Enjoying cycling at last

Hello pedelecs. I've just acquired a 2nd hand 2013 Kalkhoff Agattu. It's fantastic so far, really enjoying riding it around the windy hills of Edinburgh.
One question - it came equipped with the Axa wheel lock but no extra key. Should the battery key work in it? The key fits but won't turn.
Any thoughts?

Hello!

If the lock is the one I'm thinking of then the key should be the same for the battery and lock.
Can you push the slider down on the lock then turn the key?

Hmm. The slider will go down when the key is turned, but the metal tubing won't click in, and just pings back. It won't locate properly. I've tried scooshing it with WD40. Am guessing I'll have to remove the whole lock....

I've had customers have trouble with similar types of lock in the past. Without seeing it it's hard to diagnose properly but it does sound like everything is moving properly at least. First thing to try is operating it in a certain order...
Turn key and hold,
Press slider and hold,
Release key while still holding slider,
Release Slider.

This normally works. If not then it is possibly damaged or corroded and you may need to remove it.
