Motor wires

Good morning members.
The 3 thick wires from my motor are blue, brown & green. The corresponding wires from the controller are blue, yellow & green. I am tempted to plug the brown into the yellow (but I am a cautious coward). Can I do any damage do you think?. I was searching the forum last night till 3am this morning and see that you can switch these 3 wires in certain circumstances but I do'nt want to do any damage. Please help. No problem, you can shuffle them about trying briefly until you get the correct working combination. With some combinations you'll get a buzzing noise and vibration but the wheel not turning, so just try another.

These colour code differences are a common problem in Chinese production, no standards.

Thats fantastic flecc,it was a big problem UNTILL NOW. I live in Spain so help is very limited (Manuel, Faulty towers etc). Thanks again I can get on a bit now. Thats a couple of pints I owe you.
