Afternoon.

Too young for a motability scooter but too old to bike.

I have just bought a Giant Lafree Twist and would like to learn more about it. Unfortunately, I cannot find any manuals or user guides, in fact I can't even find out which model I have, or when it was made.

I have the serial number: GU1000749

Any pointers in the right direction would help.

(To be honest, it scares me! But don't tell anyone.)

Hi Lindsay,

Welcome to the forum. A 'photo would help identify, the bike and the controller, there are a lot of variants. My wife used to own a Giant, the one with the vertical battery inside the pannier, we never did find exactly which model it was.

I think the Giants are all torque sensing. That's to say that the amount of pressure you put on the pedal is sensed and a proportionate amount of power given through the motor. You get immediate response from the motor as sonn as you press on the peddle. It can be a bit disconcerting until you get used to it.

They seem to be well made solid bikes but slightly underpowered if you live in a hilly area, they are Dutch after all!

Welcome to the world of the E-bike grin:D
