At lunchtime today BBC news northwest featured a short item 0n pedelecs inhe Peak district. Bikes will be available to rent. 100 bikes will be available to rent at £25 per day. Available at some b&bs. If the scheme is sucessful it may be avalable in other areas. So it seems we will see more pedelecs,especially if you live in the peak district

What make can you rent - did you recognise the bikes? I think Wisper did a deal to rent somewhere in Ireland sometime ago and I wonder how that is going.

not sure of the makes but they weren't Raleigh/Kalkoff or Wisper's. If its replayed this evening i will have a closer look.

I saw this at lunchtime and they were Giant bikes, although i dont know which model.

I know one of the places that have got the electric hire bikes is near Matlock. The Youtube video shows a Giant – Esprit I think it is. They are part of The Electric Bicycle Network scheme which has just been started this spring.

 

[Wisper Bikes]

Wispers are also available to hire on sight seeing tours in London and Surrey.
