Hi

I have a e-bike kit. It has a 36V 9Ah battery (Li-ion) and a controller and motor etc. If I bought a 36V 15Ah Li-Po4 battery is my controller (in theory) going to be compatible ? Is it a voltage thing with controllers? As in you can have a 20 Ah battery as long as it's still 36V it will work or is that too simple?

I do understand the difference to me is that a 15 Ah battery will last 50% longer than a 10 Ah battery.

Thanks in advance.

You've got it about right: 36v controller and a battery whatever size you want, but you don't really want to go smaller than 9ah unless you use a type other than lifepo4 because a lifepo of less than 9ah will struggle to give the current that you need. If you need more range, the easiest would be to get a second one from Sunlova. If you go there with cash, I reckon about £180, and you'll be able to plug it in to your existing socket.
