Freego Eagle
36volt X10Ah Li-Ion £329
36Volt X17.5Ah Li-Pol £499
Both in 'behind the seat' Silver Fish style boxes.
From a very recent quote, full retail is about 10% more.

Such a lot of money, but then I guess the big 17.5 amp is the best deal at £28.51 per Amp hour.

What about these Lithium Sulphur jobbies, when will they be available, I'd like a 30 to 40 Ah battery, but not if its going to cost £1,000,000 each!

Flecc we publish prices for KOGA and SPARTA e-bike batteries here justebikes.co.uk/spare batteries . The price includes rear light unit. We're still fighting with Bosch to get their £/Wh rate inline with other major EU e-bike manufacturers. Food for thought: in the 50's Grand Prix world 1 German horsepower equated to approx 1.3 Italian horsepower. The Bosch things do go on and on...

Hobbyking, 5 ah 24v 25c $44.00 usd.
Parallel 2 off for 10 ah at 500 amp output.
Unprotected but if used with a normal 24v SLA cutoff or similar discharge won't be a problem and chargers are from mid $20 with full balancing.

This is all pretty meaningless if we include batteries purchased direct from China, (that get through with no import duty etc), with batteries purchased here in the UK.

My DIY A123 36v, 2.3AH battery cost £70. I buy the cells in small enough numbers so that they do not attract import duty.

I am about to do a post on a £20 battery I am trying on my commute :p

I have to say that

"Kudos-rack mount LifePo4 10Ah 36v.....£208.80"

seems amazing value for a battery purchased in the UK.

It would be good if we could establish to total price to the customer.
eZee batteries supplied by Cyclezee within the UK include VAT, import duty, delivery and a 2 year warranty.

Good point, warranty is important too.

Two of my cells failed after two years. I took the pack apart and replaced two cells for about £10 a few months ago.

I know many 'grey imports' for want of a better phrase, get through customs without having to pay additional charges.
Good luck to those who do, we all like a bargain, but if you factor in the additional 26% and have to pay it, then what seemed a great deal isn't quite so good.

I suggest it is not worth listing possible options if you are not willing to include one that is from an established company, has a lighter weight, higher discharge capability and vastly lower price than any I have seen by e-bike dealers, plus they have some new more compact batteries that make "invisible" conversions more viable.
Oh and they are available all over the world at reasonable shipping which is a plus as this forum caters to a world wide membership not just UK.

You quite obviously posses levels of skill and knowledge that the vast majority to do not and only a limited few would be able to do what you do.

What will the capacity, chemistry and weight of your £20 battery be and when can I place an order?
I'm serious, not joking or being sarcastic.

I did search your website including accessories, but didn't see the ongoing link to that James, the photo at that point looking like a rear light so scrolled past without realising.

I will post later. The application of my packs is very limited in that my daily Cambridge city commute (10.5mile round trip) is pretty flat. For the last 27 months, 3000 miles almost daily I have been using a 12s1p pack made up of A123 2.3Ah cells into 2 * 6s1p DIY packs. I am now trying the same branded A123 cells but with half the capacity, which I estimate will allow me to do my cross city commute, with plenty of pedal assistance from me, charging at work before my 5.25 mile commute back home.

Both cell capacities have 30c discharge with 60c peak. The cell technology is very safe. No fire risk (in terms of over/under charging/discharging or physical damage), can be pretty abused and rarely need balancing.

You must have seen my build thread as I am forever linking to it lol

How the 2.3Ah cells come pre-welded and glues together in 6s1p config. Though now it is only a few $s more to get them ready made up in 6s1p packs with power lead and balance taps. Add a fuse and series cable link and you are ready to go.
