So the latest fitness craze seems to be "Zone 2 Training" which is training at 60-70% of your heart rate for relatively long periods (40 -60 mins) at least 3 times a week.

Among other benefits it is said to burn fat , whereas at higher heart rates you burn carbohydrates. The disadvantage seems to be that it requires quite long periods of training at a lower heart rate zone and can get a bit boring.

Anyway - I think going out on your pedelec for an hour 3 times a week isn't boring it's an adventure and it is almost designed for Zone 2 training - turn the assist level up for the hills. So we should all be super athletes with the amount of Zone 2 training we do :)

Interesting article. I don't think High Intensity Interval Training is safe for everyone either, Dr.Michael Mosley never mentions that on the telly. Keeping slow jogging aerobic for 60 minutes is easy (even if slow jogging uphill - simply jog even slower taking smaller steps), in theory also somewhat easy with ebiking because you can use a lower level of assistance, which of course I have never willingly tried because I use max assistance at all times - I prefer slow jogging for exercise.

I could do that with the non-electric bike I'm assembling, but I'd look even sillier crawling along at a snails space riding a bike on it's lowest gear at 120rpm, than I do already slow jogging - I get overtaken by very ill and elderly dog walkers. Very embarrassing, but I do work up a sweat, which is even more embarrassing because I'm jogging so slowly.

If you double, triple or quadruple the amount of crap you eat, you'll get fat.

Eat enough of the wrong crap getting really fat, you'll have a heart attack before you can work harder. Best keep the crap eating level at the same quality and quantity.

Ever wondered where the surplus body mass goes when you lose weight? I mean - how does it leave your body?

It might surprise ...... It did surprise me.

I was thinking the same. A few years back I lost 20kg, which was 25% of me. I thought a lot about where I had gone. I'm probably part of some of you guys now.

That Zone 2 article was interesting and as a Torque Sesnsing mid drive rider, I'll not feel guilty about my 30 mile ride tomorrow (to my fave cafe for coffee and cake) in ECO mode - lol!

You combined that 20kg of fat with oxygen and breathed most of it out as co2. The rest leaves you in the form of water. 82% co2 and 18% water. Imagine breathing out 16.4 kg of extra co2 Saneagle!
