Is there a better option than a Cube Reaction Hybrid?

Thanks for the replies confirming my experiences: I've been looking for a viable alternative ever since my abortive attempt, in January, to buy the 2020 Reaction 625 so my 2018-er can go into semi-retirement. I've done over 12,000 miles on it now & been perfectly happy with it; the 'problem'...

Is there a better option than a Cube Reaction Hybrid?

Hi, I originally posted this in General Discussions, in reply to someone advising that Cube ebikes are poorly specced & there are better options out there... Can you point me to ANY 'class 2' ebike (70/30% road/light-trail suitable) with a Bosch performance CX mk4 motor that sells for less...

    Cube 2022 e-bikes

Hi Roger, My 2018 Cube Reaction pro, with 500wh battery + a 400wh battery, has done 12,500 miles & has only needed a replacement drivetrain & service (£140) ~every 4000 miles, plus a couple of wheel bearings in the 3+ years I've had it. My riding is all on Cornish byways, lanes & cycle tracks...

    Cube 2022 e-bikes

To Bonzo Banana & anyone else on here that has done the research... Can you point me to ANY 'class 2' ebike (70/30% road/light-trail suitable) with a Bosch performance CX mk4 motor that sells for less than the Cube Reaction with a 625wh battery? At this point I'm not even stipulating it should...

    Cube 2022 e-bikes

Unfortunately not. 75nm is as far as we go on the series 3. My mk3 is the quietest & smoothest of any of the Bosch systems ridden by aquaintances, even the grossly overpriced Riece & Mullers (£7,500-9,500) with their rubber band drive, so I'll be keeping my current bike for my 14 year-old...

    Cube 2022 e-bikes

In my case, the reason for wanting the new model is, quite simply, Tempus Fugit ☺. I'll be 72 in couple of weeks and, although hope to continue riding 40-milers 3 times a week, I have to admit to getting blown a tad more regularly than 10 years ago. The 2021 model has the Bosch series 4 motor...

    Cube 2022 e-bikes

Morning all - Long time, no post - Been too busy enjoying myself ☺. After ~7 years of cobbling together bikes & kits, bit the bullet & invested in a brand spanking 2018 Cube Reaction Hybrid pro. Having put 12,000 miles on it in 3 years, decided 'twas time for a new one & marched into Clive...

    Not dead Yet...

Morning all, Just a note to update any long-standing members: It''s been 8 or 9 years now, since I put that 1st bafang conversion on a 2nd-hand Carrera & I've done a few miles, chugging around mid-Cornwall on a variety of steeds since then. Currently on a Cube Reaction with a Bosch CX: Had it...

Fitting a S12S controller to an ezee mk2 motor

Thanks for the loan of your S12p controller, Allan. As you know, it ran the bike like a boss, albeit at 1100 watts, it went like a train! The only mods I had to do, to my kit - not yours☺, was solder up a new throttle connector and swap 2 phases. Couldn't get it to work with pas, or get a...

Fitting a S12S controller to an ezee mk2 motor

Morning Alan, That's most kind of you and, if no-one has come up with a solution for the s12s, I'd be grateful for the loan. It's no trouble for me to pop over to St.Stephen if you could pm me to let me know when & where. Is D8veh no longer on the forum? It was a rare thing for him to not be...

Fitting a S12S controller to an ezee mk2 motor

It's been more than 18 months since I last posted on the forum, mainly because my focus shifted from being an ebike enthusiast to a bike-riding enthusiast. However, I now have a bit of a problem and, knowing which side my bread's buttered, decided this should be the place to ask for advice. The...

    Convert my Rockhopper help

Definitely fit a throttle for offroad use. Pas is great for general tracks & trails, but it'll give you a surge right when you don't want it when negotiating a tight switchback. No need to lose the granny - put the pas ring & sensor on the left crank.

    Biking Bollards....

The "calming" island recently installed at the entrance to our speed limit is on the only bend in an otherwise straight country road.
