After about 5 months of commuting to work on my bike I required a part for the bike and e mailed Martin Lawrence (Freego) Martin rang me on my mobile next day and delivered to my place of work next day. All of the makes of these vehicles will suffer breakdowns etc just as with any car/bike...

Thank you for the replies, I wanted a standby e bike (I really do rely on my main bike as my commuter) but I was hoping to pay half that ! (ie half = £350) A second hand e bike may be a better option for me, cheers , M

I think that I used to see the c5 guy, Roger. I was doing an electrical course at St. Athan around '85 '86 and I used to drive each morning from g/f flat in Barry to east camp. 'often saw the C5 looney in those murky winding lanes! M

I'm feeling better about it then! I have used black silicone to waterproof at handlebar level, the throttle and pedal assist 'brain' cables go to a junction box/controller? and that box has nice little grommets but they are split grommets (ie no seal from water then) so I have at least...

Spinalot, Those magnets spinning by one another act as an electromagnetic brake when the sysytem is on load..ie charging. Did you ever disconnect an alternator on a car when working on it? When you reconnect it (while engine is running by the way) the engine slows.very noticeably. Dont do...

That's good to know, my bike is a couple of months 'old' now and has known only nice weather so far. We have a bridge to get on and off the island. . .so no deep water :)
