Thank you for trying that - very useful to know. I will probably not go for the conversion for the moment because of personal reasons, but I'd certainly need to be able to get it into the bag, if I do.

About the extra width when folded - Would it still fit in a Brompton bag? You may not have the heavy duty transport bag, but I find my machine is a tight squeeze in it (though not necessarily for the width of the front forks) - I have a long seat post.

The big problem we found with cycleguard is that you are very constrained as to which locks you can use. Basically, we couldn't find acceptable locks. The ETA seem to have more sensible cycle-centric insurance, and the rescue service seems ideal for commuters, especially the puncture rescue...

In my case, big feet. I do more damage when wearing size 12 than size 11!

Key on Cadence Is your key as badly placed as mine is, so that it can be easily hit by the foot if you try to pedal with the toes? If you don't know what I mean, it's probably been improved (I also have big feet, which makes it worse).

I hope you enjoy this bike. I assume you've got the Li-on battery, as that's what 50 cycles are now selling. I think that you've got enough power in the bettery to do the whole trip, provided it's reasonably flat. Try to ride it so that the power gauge doesn't go into red - especially not...

After some more research... The Dutch have a wiki at Fietsroutes Vlaanderen - Fietsroutes Belgie which shows it's possible (at least, in Dutch). The CTC have a routes system which is available to members, and 'write only' - not suitable for collaboration, but at least able to accept uploads...

Methinks that we want the motor on the same side as the pedals, so that the power from both goes through the gears to get to the wheel - the pedaler(?) has a soft spot for power, and so does the motor. The gears should keep both in their soft spots. BTW, yes, I'm an engineer, but not...

I can see that a shaft drive would be able to move the weight off the wheel, so it could go somewhere better. There was a report in a Velovision magazine about a (non-electric) bike with shaft drive, but I've never seen one out or in a shop. Is that warm?
