KT-LCD8S Screen Symbol (and power stopped)

I think that's the brake symbol that usually activated by switches on the brake levers. Check out that the levers are returning normally. If necessary, you can temporary disconnect the brake lever electrical cables from the controller cable to check. They are an extra safety feature that cuts...

    3-D Printer

Guns printed with 'cheap, commercially available 3D printers' have been found in Ireland. https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/spotlight/arid-41704304.html

    Bafang clutch

I would try soak in petrol first and then relube with 3in one.

    Bafang clutch

I would not use any water based degreaser as it may cause some rust.

    Bafang clutch

Try working some 3in one oil down into the clutch and wiggling it back and forward. Sometimes it works.

    Greasing up the TSDZ2B

I have similar about 7200Km up on a 36v (2020) tsdz2 which I have never opened and it still goes. The motor has been trouble free so far. I think I will just open it if it breaks. As far as I know, plastic gears running against metal need very little lube. Some even claim they are self...

250w Ebike Kit with KT Controller

I think my dropouts were wide enough so that they did not need widening as such other than a slight rub to remove some flaky paint. I think I needed to loosen the gear hanger when fitting the axle of the motor so it lined up better with the frame and re-tighten. However, I did need to make the...

Torque Simulation with Yose Power Lishui Controller

Any test certs I came across for EN15194 compliance, shows that "Assistance shall be provided only when the cyclist pedals forward" seems to be a requirement for this euro standard as example below..

    Connector confusion.

I think I will have that problem shortly (but the other way around) as I have to upgrade a controller from 22A to 35A and they have different plugs as shown below. I think I will just chop the cables and join at the controller end as there is another connector at the motor end.

250w Ebike Kit with KT Controller

I fitted a rear hub motor to a Carrera Vengence about two years ago. The rear dropout look almost identical to the Hellcat. It worked out OK but there were two things that I found made fitting the wheel tricky. The first was that the dropouts are really shallow and in my case I did not mind...

    Old Giant struggles with hill.

I spent a bit of time with a push button throttle but I could never get it to work satisfactory. It seems to work great in the shed but when you use it on the road I run into problems. On first use it works fine with full power as expected for a very short while. But the power then seems to fade...

Meroca dropper seatpost - any good? Oh, and someone's nicked me bike!

I understand. I tend to fit a smaller wheel at the back for this reason. At present I have a 26 inch rear on the Carrera Vengence (normally 27.5) and doing similar (26) to another 700c hybrid. They often call this setup a 'Mullet'. An extra advantage to this setup is that 26 rear kits are more...

KT controller cutting out at 36V?

I had a possible similar problem once with a well used phylion battery (10S5P). The battery would cut out at about 36v. I opened the battery and got a very sweet smell, which is a bad sign. One cell was faulty (self discharge) and was dragging the voltage down on a single group of 5 parallel...

Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

I think its usual to use the battery current to control the motor power and this gives a more natural feeling. However, it can be useful to be given the option to be able to manually set a maximum limit on phase current as this sets a torque limit at low speeds. I could see where this may be...

    Pendleton Somerby e bike fault

I think a bad cell group can cause the battery management (BMS) to cut the battery power under load. The pendleton (that I am familiar with) (2017) uses speed control so it gets a good surge of power to bring it up to speed before the current settles back.
