Torque Simulation with Yose Power Lishui Controller

Rather than pollute other threads with this I thought I'd put this out there. My other forum reading has come across this solution for the Yose Power Lishui controllers.

It needs no programming knowledge as the settings are adjusted by the C500 display. Might be a solution for people that are considering swapping out there system as it would only cost around £5 for the dongle needed to flash it and a bit of soldering. Of course I would imagine that there are very few users for it so it could go wrong necessitating a new controller, but if you were doing that anyway it might be worth a punt.

There would be no need to worry about adding a torque sensor so the 12V tap information would be redundant. It would just be soldering the 4 wires to the programming port and flashing the hex file.
I haven't tried this so anyone having a go would be a pioneer in the field.

Resetting the pedals when stopped at a traffic light could be fun. Off you shoot.
I don't know the type of PAS on the Yose Power kits but a few of them look dual hall sensor.

Any test certs I came across for EN15194 compliance, shows that "Assistance shall be provided only when the cyclist pedals forward" seems to be a requirement for this euro standard as example below..

The dual hall PAS only works one way. The controller can be coded to recognise direction but is a waste of processing when using the double hall sensor.

Unless there's a "Zero effort backpedalling hill climb mode" button, or you remember to engage ebrakes before resetting the pedals. It's not a offroad mode orificer, it's a uphill mode.

This doesn't preclude one pedal going forward and one going backward. The cyclist would be pedalling forward, with one leg. Therefore perfectly legal, as long as the right leg pedals forward, however slowly with very little effort, while the left leg activates full power pedal asssistance by pedalling backward faster with no effort? Tricky but not impossible.

Backpedalling pedal assist activation could provide a way for cadence sensored hub motor systems to pass the wheel off the ground speed limit test, when stopped by orificers. The rider could insist the bike be tested on the road, after pressing a switch surreptitiously reverting to forward pedal assist shortly before.

Or get off and walk. If you really want the challenge, walk on your hands balancing the bike on your feet.
