Will a Tongsheng Tsdz2 fit on this full suspension decathlon bike?

It seems to be a Hailong G56, available on AliExpress from a variety of sellers in both complete battery and empty case forms. At around 9.3cm in height it’s around 1.5cm shorter than my Hailong with integrated controller. Maybe I’ll make a little cardboard template and try it in some local...

Will a Tongsheng Tsdz2 fit on this full suspension decathlon bike?

This battery case looks interesting - it might open up conversion possibilities for some other FS machines. Do you have details & vendor for it?

New here. Suggestions for ebike for off road trails re disabled female

I have a disability that limits how much energy I can spend. Converting an old hardtail MTB I got cheap off of gumtree with a cheap geared hub motor cost me well under 1k including a quality battery and has been amazing for me the last two and a half years. As soon as I did it I wished I had...

Will a Tongsheng Tsdz2 fit on this full suspension decathlon bike?

I've been looking around for options on 27.5, full sus donor bikes for TSDZ2/BBS02 and this seems to be the only game in town? There are lots of lovely used full sus bikes around my area but they all seem to have either insufficient triangle space or an awkward bottom bracket that would require...

Just how much off-road abuse are you giving your DIY bikes?

Thanks Neal that’s good to hear, sounds like I don’t have to be super careful with it on the trails. I’ve tightened a couple of loose spokes so it should be good as long as I keep an eye on things. I’ll steer clear of the jumps though, maybe I’ll get a chance to rent a full sus emtb at some...

Just how much off-road abuse are you giving your DIY bikes?

It’s coming up for a year since I converted an old Polish hardtail off Gumtree using a geared rear hub (Q128) and frame battery. The bike has performed extremely well on the road as well as on gravel and has gotten my CFS/ME-wracked body out and about many times when otherwise it wouldn’t have...

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

Just a quick update in case anyone else has a similar problem: it was the wiring (the big chunky main cable that ends in the various connectors for the brakes, display etc). I ordered a new controller and wiring but the wiring alone was enough to fix it so the old controller is still in place...

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

I’ve not replied in a while as I’ve not been able to get my head round the results I’ve gotten. The colours on the spare JULET cable I have are different but I used the multimeter to identify which colours go the which pins and referred to the below diagram. Twisting the cable attached to the...

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

There’s no way for me to measure voltage with an actual LCD in place: the controller integrates with the battery mount so I can’t get in there with the battery plugged in. If I strip the LCD’s wire I won’t be able to reattach the Julet socket, my skills are very rudimentary. Im measuring the...

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

I’ve done a little more testing. I couldn’t see how to get at the wires in the controller with the multimeter without desoldering them so I’ve just left that. I used a stripped JULET cable in place of the LCD to test the voltage reaching the lcd and found it to be over 52V. Wondering if...

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

I tried it with an LED I had lying around and it also complained of low power on a full battery...?

Bike great for 6 months now LCD claims no charge on charged battery, motor doesn’t work

Looks to me like water has gotten in through the holes as it inevitably would given that the design leaves the controller exposed underneath the battery.
