Hi, I have an electric Sunrunner Tricycle I would like to sell.. It has been sitting in storage for a long time, but now I have moved house I no longer have anywhere for it.
The Trike is in Northern Ireland and has been stored since the ban on using electric bikes here, therefore whoever wanted to buy it would need to take that into consideration as I don't know what the charge would be to move it elsewhere.

I will get photos of it if there is any interest. it has been stored in a dry garage all this time.

it was serviced after covid, and ran beautifully. the battery always held a good charge and never had any issues with it. it was never used a lot so there should be plenty of life left in it. the charger etc is there. I suspect there may be a slow puncture in the tyres although I am not sure. it has been sitting for a few years unused so perhaps deflation is normal.
Other than a few minor scratches and signs of usage, and a slightly wonky (just needs straigntened) tyre guard on the back wheel its in what I consider very good condition.

open to offers and will be sold as seen, so if you do have any questions please ask before purchasing as I will not accept returns.

Thank you

Stormont failed to ratify the newer EAPC regs back in 2017 so they remained illegal.

Hi Baz, I have been told repeatedly that I am not allowed to ride it, but even without the law stating that. I have moved house and do not have the space necessary to store the Trike, so for me it's irrelevant. After I was told this, the bike was put into storage and has sat there. I don't know if the law has changed now or not, but I recall that many of the companies that did electric bike tours etc were shut down due to it.

I am away at the moment but will be back this weekend and will pop some pictures up for you - please bear with me. :)

Yes personally I think the EPAC law and low powered MOPED heads needs revision in parliament.
Especially with better engineering on bikes and more efficient e kits I would like to see a category that would allow an EPAC to do say 20MPH with or without an e-throttle but with no number plates or insurance needed
. I think we may get more people out of there cars ie better security at supermarkets for instance.

We also need much better protection from theft for all bikes as it’s a major worry padlocking a bike up and not losing it to theft .
But all road users get from local government are ways to raise revenue for roads that are in appalling condition to ride on ie pot holes and speed humps ECT
Wardens that could double up as community officers to stop thefts and other anti social behaviour ie fly tipping for instance would also be of benefit to everyone.

hi so sorry for the late response, ended up with a nasty bug, just getting back on my feet now. :(

here are some pictures of it. I don't know the ins and outs of the law here, but I am not comfortable riding it and don't have room to keep it anyway.

any questions or if anyone wants more photos, please ask, but I have to be honest, I don't really know a lot about bikes - the charger and key is there as well :)

If there is no interest here can anyone tell me where I could advertise it? I really do not have anywhere to store it and I would like someone to get some use out of it, I am not looking much. I know the battery alone is worth a couple of hundred so would take a minimal amount as its stressing me out sitting there. Any offers considered. Thank you

Could you not advertise it in the Republic? Surely they have EU rules there regarding EPAC.

With regards to where to advertise it, most people use Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace and eBay.

I would advise not advertising it with "possible slow punctures" just get them pumped up if it's been sat for a while. Also, emphasise that the battery has had not many re-charging cycles. Also use plenty of pictures and words in the description. You would not believe how many people try and sell bikes without even telling you what size it is, for example.

Also, you don't have to find somewhere down south to advertise it. All the sites for selling stuff allow buyers to set a maximum distance, so for example, someone in say Donegal, setting a distance of say 50 miles will cover most of NI, will it not?

Obviously I'm not exactly sure how all this works in Ireland but you guys do have an open border do you not?

I think it is probably because its been stored a while but I really know nothing about bikes. I also don't even know how to describe it lol its a tricycle and a sunrunner and thats really it apart from some basic terms. I don't know what size it is :( but its adult size.

this is turning out to be a real headache though as most of the sites I have tried like gumtree are actually advertsie and I am having issues being able to use the site. I am not great with ebay etc and not used it and not tech savvy. at this point im debating whether or not to just toss it in the skip and be done....

thank you so much for your help though and heres hoping I find her a good home and she doesn't end up in landfill ...

Shame I don't live next door, I could help you out but there's not much I do from here in Wiltshire.

I would rather give it away than throw it in a landfill. If you could find a friend or neighbour to help you get it on eBay with no reserve price, someone in Ireland would buy it, even if they only bid 50 quid (or Euros).

Good luck and all the best mate.

Also, I just found your ad on Gumtree, it's working fine.

I would add the word "Electric" somewhere in the title, if I were you.
