Hi all

Can anyone tell me what colour wires does a SM PAS plug sensor has, so I can join a WP-90CM orange julet plug instead

like what colours from the WP-90CM orange julet plug join to SM black plug

I've been caught out recently soldering on a 5 pin julet connector to a display. The wiring colours bore no relation to the original. It's almost as if the person making the plug just connected any wire they felt like to any pin. Luckily I didn't manage to blow anything up.

Anyway lesson learned, trace each one before making up anything else.

Back to your question. the V12L has 3 wires. 5V positive, Ground and Signal. You would think Red, Black and another colour in that order but consider checking it with a multimeter.

Well I wont know how to test it on a multi meter I do have one

this is an old PAS which dont work. so was thinking of taking off the orange plug transfer it to the V12 SM black plug which I dont need as mine is the orange plug type. I just need to know what colours has the orange plug one and what colours is on the V12 so i can join then correctly to work

There are only 6 combinations. You could twist and tape and then keep swapping until it works.
You won't know the wiring colours until you cut of the plugs and strip them back.

...........are the colours the same in each one. Just seems a logical guess.
Well in the orange plug one the 3 colours are black, red, & white

I can't exactly check wires on the SM black plug one just yet, as it was sent to me wrong by a seller on ebay

I have had a full refund, but everytime I keep asking seller to give me his address so I can return it back to him. its like he dont seem to understand my question. so I thought bugger him then if he can't give me a return address no my problem, so I will keep it. But don't want to cut wires just yet just need info

Lets try and make it easy for you .
5v to 5v . 5v will either be colured Red or sometimes Brown is used.
Gnd to Gnd . Gnd will usually be Black but if Black isn't used then Yellow is used.
Don't worry about Signal wires as they can be any other colour they decide to use, white , pink ,ornage , green or even blue. Yellow can be used if there is also Balck used for Gnd .

So if you have Black and Yellow , then Black is Gnd and Yellow Signal.

It is simple just to arrange the 5v and Gnd then Signal sorts itself out.

With the SM plug one should be able to slide off the heat shrink to see the wire colours.

Well Nealth that’s great as I just removed the heat shrink off the SM plug and they are red, black, and green so that’s easy then as orange wp plug is red, black, & white so it’s obvious white to green then black to black red to red great now I have a spare pas sensor

Yep that all sounds good, most china stuff is about using logic.
Some listings will ID the 5v, gnd and Signal.

Years ago I do remember someone coming on here to ID his controller wiring , PAS , speed , sensor , throttle and pas all used exactly the same thre colour wires.
On the controller side one can easily ID 5v & Gnd with a meter.

Yes you can..Sort of. Left pin + right pin -
