    Tonaro Esprit update

One point to mention the battery really needs to be pulled out of the electric connection to charge up properly.....no need to take it right off the bike though unless you want to. I am not sure what you mean by this Lynda but it does not sound right. Can you expand on this a bit please? Steve

    Tortoise or Hare?

off topic but just had to share.

One of my collegues hit a deer on the way to work this morning. She was driving her car and it made a hell of a mess of it. Unfortunately the deer paid the price. Steve

    DB-zero folding electric bike

How can it be a bargain just because it is half price? It might be a complete load of rubbish to begin with. OK it may be £3000 worth of rubbish. There are plenty of nice bikes in the UK where you can go and see them, talk to the sellers and have a go on them. If any problems arise you...

    Battery cutting out

Rosie, is there a small magnet on one of the rear spokes? If there is, take it off and try to ride the bike. This was the problem with Jannies Tonaro but it may not be the problem with your bike. It is worth a try. Steve

    Crossing borders

As some of you may know that as well as owning a Tonaro electric bike I also own motorbikes. I found this interesting experiment on one of my motorbike sites that some of you may like, even if it is for the technical side of things. Electric trail bike - ADVrider Steve

    Commute home video

I used to have an ICE trike and drivers always gave me more room than they usually do on a bike. It was a bit like driving a mini, mini. I always felt safe and stable on the trike. Other drivers used to slow down and pull alongside to have a look, that was the only scarey bit about it. Steve

Guinness World Record for the furthest distance travelled on an electric bike!

Plus the fact that the guy and his wife going round the world are doing it unassisted. This thread seems to be just a way to get storck a bit of publicity, which is fair enough. But I hope they are not trying to use this as an advertising feature because someone did not do their homework and...

Why is every bike in Germany brand new.

It is the same in Denmark. Probably one of the main reasons is that we know we can take our bikes down to the local supermarket and there is almost 100% chance that it will be there when we come out. Everyone rides bikes in Denmark and so really there is no point in nicking another one. Plus...

Trike'll be here soon-what do I need? (locks, helmet, mirror recommendations please)

Pterosail trikes have been doing this for a long time and look far more exciting. Pterosail Sail Trike - YouTube Being a sailmaker I thought about doing it but the mast and sail would get in the way if you were on the road. Even though they say it is road legal. I have my doubts. Certainly...

DIY Ebike 14.4kg inc 10aH 37v battery Full Suspension

We could come up with a huge host of good ideas just by looking at motorbikes. Here is the updated version of the Motoleggera, this is the Cardellino from 1956. It still has that centre spring which I think would look good on a modern bike. But this one has the conventional front forks that we...

Trike'll be here soon-what do I need? (locks, helmet, mirror recommendations please)

I only have them on my Bacchetta Giro 26 and bar end wouldn`t work on it. If it was for a standard bike I think you would have to try them because I don`t know if you would be able to see behind using the short stems. If you ask on Velovision.com, someone will tell you the best to use. Steve

I like the front suspension. It reminds me a bit of the Moto Guzzi Motoleggera suspension from the 1940s. Steve

Trike'll be here soon-what do I need? (locks, helmet, mirror recommendations please)

Tara, with regrards to mirrors. First make sure the stems are long enough to see behind you. I use busch and Muller mirrors on my bikes and they are really good because they are very tough and I have not managed to break one yet. They are also very clear. It is worth paying the extra because...

Can you recommend a reasonably priced courier for trike delivery - Kent to Torbay?

Hi Tara, I used a company called Spirit Couriers to move my 1100cc motorbike from Guildford to Hull and it cot £80. They usually deal in motorbikes but have a word and they may help you. They were excellent. Don`t worry that they are a bike company, I am quite sure they would be happy to...

    Danish Electric Recumbent Commuter

Hi Christian, Steve in Haderslev here. You may have seen my ICE trike in a thread we both contributed to. Unfortunately the ICE is sold now and I have a Bacchetta Giro 26. I am tempted to put power on it next year. That is a really nice looking trike you have there. Steve
