what capacity cells would be in 36v 17ah battery

Many thanks, that makes sense(150 euro will pay itself in terms of not buying a dodgy overpriced battery with inferior generic cells in my case). But is it easy enough to use a spot welder?

what capacity cells would be in 36v 17ah battery

I'm about to do the same. But if one Google spot welding batteries many recommend soldering for creating better connections and being safer and cheaper(if taking a bit more space). So left field as it may sound, why not solder?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I can see where you're coming from and that it worked for you. However, here's an example of the opposite. Back in 2009,while quite sure I'm making a terrible mistake, I bought a family home in Wimbledon by taking out as much debt as I could afford. In 2016 I sold it for almost twice as much. It...

In principal I agree (and would argue that it has already gone tits up, badly, several times, and that the banking debt makes anything I borrow seem trivial). In practice (to sound really mature) we all take on some debt, responsibly, it's time versus money, if one waits until one can afford...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Debt is an intrinsic part of this little island's economy's raison d'etre. Unfortunately we're not Germany or Scandinavia, we don't invent and produce truly useful stuff. Instead we rely on financial services which is all about packaging and servicing debt. And I want a tesla and don't think...

This is very useful, I'll try and find out how possible it is to build a bottle battery with these cells and a bms

what capacity cells would be in 36v 17ah battery

Many thanks for the useful informative replies. One snag is that it doesn't seem acceptable to me to shell out £500 every 400 or so cycles on a new battery. It makes the cost per mile higher than practically any other transport. But I guess there isn't any alternative (and sincerely don't mean...

what capacity cells would be in 36v 17ah battery

And why does tesla get 8 years and unlimited miles out of battery packs regularly cranking out 5C (several hundred kW) when pedelec batteries die after two years and negligible miles? Evidently its not heat, and I think you've all established its not charging protocol.

what capacity cells would be in 36v 17ah battery

Sorry to but(t) in (dreadful pun), but when you lot aren't having a go at each other you seem to know exponentially more than I do about batteries (though I'm quite adept at hijacking threads). So, at risk of causing more flaming, what battery would you put on a torque sensor Ed crank drive...

    Brompton/Pendix conversion by Kinetics

Would it be rash to order it and simply connect two 5ah 6S lipo packs as used in rc (a guy on a review did this) with low voltage alarms? This could make for a £350 diy pedelec kit with torque sensor (if aliexpress actually sends it and the lipos don't blow up)

Many thanks, I was thinking of this model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Tongsheng-TSDZ2-Mid-Drive-Motor-Conversion-ebike-Kit-Torque-Sensor-36V-300W-XH18-Display-High-Speed/32769107263.html The 500w option

Reviews are good and a 500w kit from Tongsheng on alien press is (postage free to UK) without battery £240 all in. Does anyone know of a suitable battery? Many thanks.

    Brompton/Pendix conversion by Kinetics

Apologies for half hijacking a thread, but do anyone know of an affordable torque sensored crank drive kit? I have a well used but we'll loved old mezzo folder upgraded to Nexus 8 speed hub gear and had a fantasy of putting a very simple torque sensored crank drive on with minimal wiring so I...

    Brompton/Pendix conversion by Kinetics

I liked it a lot,at first - torque sensor,I gather, simplicity, fits any frame(even an old mezzo). But kinetics charge £1745 (that's much more than pendix's 1300 euro), and it's a 300w/h battery. You could buy a decent torque sensored cranked drive bike whole for that

    Brexit, for once some facts.

What do you call voters that spend 44 billion on a vanity project during a recession? Seriously, can you imagine what a 44 billion investment would have turned public services into. Aside from the collateral damage of sterling's collapse

    Brexit, for once some facts.

One could think of brexit as being the satire. I think Peter Cooke once said the period between 1939 and 45 was the most satirical in history..

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Here's a fact, the pound euro has inched up to 1.14, it doesn't matter intrinsically, but you can think of it as the odds the financial markets place on a hard brexit (suddenly weaker), it's what investors made of the fine print in the deal

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It's more satisfying dramatic irony than I've witnessed in years, the tories hold the country hostage to try to resolve their internal civil war about Europe via brexit and the focus shifts smartly back to their internal division as they cannot agree on a brexit that seems increasingly unlikely...
