Rear hub motor cutting out after stopping

All advice appreciated. I have ordered a simple PAS kit on Ebay for £7. I think the sensor might just swap over although I will need to rig up some solid / waterproof cable connector under the Bottom Bracket as there is no way I can get access to anything like a controller unit. I'll see what...

Rear hub motor cutting out after stopping

That sounds like an excellent plan. Are you able to advise further please. Looking at the design of the cabling etc. It looks like I'll need to cut the current wiring on the Bottom Bracket and add a connector anyway.

Rear hub motor cutting out after stopping

Hi thelarkbox. I am sure it is the sensor now. It did get knocked badly several months ago when the chain got tangled up. It sounds interesting what you say about the pattern though. I shall swap over the dynamic rings just to double check that there isn't a magnet that has dropped out. That is...

Rear hub motor cutting out after stopping

My wife has a rear hub motor. It has started cutting out after I stop and it sometimes takes quite a long time until the motor kicks in, a particular problem on steep hills. I have the same setup on my bike (larger wheels). I have swapped the controller units over and also the batteries but it...

Praise for Pedelec member (and this forum)

I have had some excellent support from your 'esteemed pedelecer' Nealh just now. I had contacted him via personal message as he had helped me last year on this forum so it didn't appear on this discussion page. I would like to put it on public record what a great site this is for support and...

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

It looks close enough. My dropout width is more (147mm), but I have a lot of spacer washers (see photo), so I am guessing that they probably are the same. Hard to measure exactly with spokes in place, but I get 127mm spoke hole and 140mm flange, so it may be I need a new set of spokes although...

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

THis sounds like it really is a goer! I look forward to seing the pictures, but am pretty confdent it will work out. The wheel builder is very helpful too, has built quite a few motorised wheels. If it's all good we'll need to sort out how we do the transaction etc. Would it be more secure if...

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

More: I have just found a local wheel-builder who is happy to do this for me. So it looks like all I need is a motor. It's looking more hopeful.

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

That's helpful, but I don't know where to go from here. I have looked online and can't see any 29" wheels with motors that aren't from China (long wait for delivery), that would be easiest of course. I am also finding it hard to locate a wheel builder. I may have found one, but he would need...

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

I know this is a freewheel hub, but I could get a cassette if necessary.

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

That looks interesting. I'll locate a wheel lacer and let you know very soon. The motor looks similar to mine. I'll sort things tomorrow. Cheers

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

Just to be clear, you suggest getting a replacement hub motor and get someone to build a wheel for me using my current rim.

    Sourcing a replacement rear wheel

I have a Bafang clone rear wheel. The axle has snapped so I am guessing that it is not repairable (please advise if I am wrong). I am not sure where to source a replacement wheel. Everything online seems to be a conversion kit. It is a 29" MTB wheel with a freewheel (not cassette) and disc...

Are 9 speed shifters different from 10 speed shifters?

I have really struggled to get a shifter. I paid £40 for a pair (uneccesary) but it was all I could find. They only shift the gears from 11 to 5 even though I am giving 9 clicks (the site said they were compatible)...

Are 9 speed shifters different from 10 speed shifters?

Hi, I have had to change my 10 speed freewheel to a 9 speed freewheel. My current shifter is a Shimano Deore 10 speed. I am guessing that for correct indexing I shall need to get a different shifter. With the bike on a stand, the chain doesn't seem to seat very well. Is anyone out there able to...

Help! Disaster, Hub motor failed, discontinued!

A faulty screw-on freewheel. (interesting it is 10 speed - unusual). Only got to this because I had to take it off to get to the motor cover. Swapped it over onto another bike - and fault transferred with it. Easy solution (and much cheaper). Appreciate all help. Happy, can cycle again and have...
