    Help! My next project

The Grin spoke calculator is giving me left spoke length 241mm and right 240.1, so I'm thinking 241 all round. https://ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html?hub=cust_d130_s41_o-9_n36_l135_h2.5_p22.7&pair=false&rim=cust_dia622_e602_lo1_ro1_w31&lelb=in&relb=out

Well there ya go. Experience wins out. Sometimes you've just gotta do it the hard way to see the easy way !

Honestly, this guy is part of the problem for us all. His speedo is regularly showing 35kph+, riding around the city !

    Help! My next project

Well tight wad has won out, so I've decided to go with what I've got. First was scavenging the rim from a defunct Ezee motor case: Having removed the spokes I've used the Ryan method of finding the ERD. I tightened nipples onto two old spokes so they would not move. Cut off the j bend and...

    Stiff rear wheel

Disc bolts would be my first thought. Second would be the smallest cog of the gear cluster rubbing on the frame. It's not possible to see in your video if the wheel is centred in the frame. Is the tyre rubbing anywhere?

    Help! My next project

That's exactly what I was starting to think as I rode this morning. It's already set up with swept back bars and I like the gearing. Being a tight wad enviromentalist I want to get the useful life out of the rack battery, hoping we might be seeing a different chemistry by the time I need a...

    Help! My next project

Having just been shopping, I've had second and third thoughts. Despite the Rocky Mountain being a much revered bike, I realise I need a hard tail so I can use my panniers and my 36v rack battery which still has a lot of use in it.

    More Seizures

Crushing a vehicle within 48 hours would seem to indicate it being done before any court case. Does this not turn the police into judge and jury? Guilt being decided at the roadside does create a moral hazard it would seem. Whilst not condoning the behaviours this move is aimed at, I am...

    Help! My next project

Thanks Saneagle. It's bloody typical isn't it!. I've just come back from 2 weeks charity work in Norfolk. I could have come back that way, the van would have swallowed that bike. Now Google maps is giving me an 8.5 hour round journey to get it.

    Help! My next project

Thanks guys. I have an AKM128 (labelled 250w - ahem!) built into a 26" rear wheel, but am prepared to put it into a 700c (I have rims and am rather enjoying the lacing). Current bike has 48,38,28 x 8 speed which suits me fine for the hills and back roads of west Wales. I'm fine with a hard tail...

    Help! My next project

My current ride is approaching 20kmiles. It's a front hub Ezee and I think the whole ensemble is getting a bit old. Not only that but the increasing number of confiscations make me think I need to get fully legal. I have a KT kit with an AKM rear hub which I've taken off my recumbent ( a...

    Handle bar riser

I too used to suffer from wrist and shoulder pain. I fitted an extension to the stem but also fitted OnOne Mary bars. Theses give a slight rise and are swept back, giving the wrists a more natural angle. They also allow you to ride with elbows unlocked so more able to absorb bumps and shocks...

Is it mad to want two e-bikes?

And this is exactly the reason that so often rcomendations, on this forum, are for bikes with generic parts where you don't get tied in to proprietary components, either at great expense or unavailable after a couple of years. These bikes can get referred to as, 'cheap chinese crap' by some...

Been there, tried it. You'll probably find it's cheaper to buy a complete crank set. I know, crazy !

    Applying Stickers to Hub Motor

Well, after much tutting and wtf, I finally got there. I'd love to show you the result but I've already expanded my computer skills enormously and I'm not sure I can take any more ! Thanks for the tutorials Guerny.

    Applying Stickers to Hub Motor

Jeez, if that's the requirement we're all stuffed. Suspect it may be a piece of european over thought flummery. Clue is, at the start, it refers to EPAC (is that electric pedal assited cycle?) , I believe in this country it's EAPC (electric assisted pedal cycle), which is totally different. If...

I also used an HP laser printer. No problems. My difficulty was not being able to replicate the CE and UK CA fonts. Anyone got a pointer?
