    Viking E go

sorry, it did occur to me after the post that I have a crank motor, not a hub motor like your ego...big difference

    Viking E go

to get back to the original post (I'm afraid I am also a kalkhoff owner who thinks all other pedelecs are "affordable"), I'm afraid that the only way to manage (I also have a cheap Chinese job with a throttle and derailleur in addition to the kalkhoff) is to learn to use the throttle - in...

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

kalkhoff endeavour with impulse 2 comes 612 wH battery and is just within your budget (ive been thinking about this for a similar commute myself)

Yet another big bloke with a grand to spend...

IMHO its worth spending more and getting a Kalkhof in the long run - having bought one and then something less expensive. with pedelecs ive found you really get what you pay for

    Folding Bike

to be heretic, are you sure you need an electric bike? London is awfully flat, I have a Brompton, with a rohloff to be fair, but ive regularly whizzed from tate modern to Marylebone in less time than a tube journey..

    Woosh CD Sport Disc Brakes

helpful detailed review - as a complete newbie to disc brakes (and someone who tends to plough in and do things and sometimes read the manual later..)i think one very useful thing is to keep all teh bolts fixing the calliper loose as one applies teh brake to centre it before tightening - i just...

    Conversion kit opinions

pretty cool conversion (somewhat post apocalyptic look), i will have to try a hub motor I think to get beyond theory of torque and current and ratios..

    Which bike ahhh? :)

having bought a few pedelecs and having had to tweak them, I would if I had to do it all over bite the (expensive) bullet and buy a kalkhoff endeavour - it's just in your budget and the thing about kalkhoff (other than very high quality) is that they're also very good bicycles in themselves -...

    Another Scam Warning

or ask if they can hold while you "check the front door" and make them wait a few hours..

    Conversion kit opinions

he here's where I get confused - I know electric motors provide the same amount of torque at any revs (i.e. they don't have a torque curve like a combustion engine - it's a flat line) - but still, using gears must multiply the torque? i.e. a 250 watt crank motor running at a three to one ratio...

    Woosh CD Sport Disc Brakes

many thanks d8veh and trex, let's hope I haven't damaged anything by doing 15 miles before doing this this morning. I've done it now and the front wheel runs more or less freely - no friction one could really consider noticeable, but there is an ever so slight noise - a bit like a diminutive...

    Woosh CD Sport Disc Brakes

fitting by the way is a doddle - two bolts to fit calliper and a few bolts to fit handle - no bleeding or anything.

    Woosh CD Sport Disc Brakes

I've received the shimano m615 and fitted it - I'm a complete newbie when it comes to disc brakes - never mind hydraulic. the braking power is transformed - with gentle pressure it provides complete control up to locking front wheel. however, despite my fiddling it still rubs a bit - there's...

Woosh Big Bear and Santana CD-L Comparison

have a look at this http://sheldonbrown.com/derailer-adjustment.html having destroyed the rear hanger on a lovely old kona, I decided to be very careful when doing the Santana and used Sheldon's instructions - its very easy (you just twiddle the plastic screw that's perpendicular to the rear...

Jeremy Clarkson :- hub or crank

for that kind of money id be tempted to fit a 750w bafang crank drive AND front hub motor to my old kona..

Jeremy Clarkson :- hub or crank

but would a hub motor have the same torque as a crank motor working through low gears? having said that i once tried to plough through sand in a rohloff giant twist (panasonic crank) years ago. as expermients go it was a complete failure.
