    Bafang 750w Cheapest UK Price

That's a really nice bike for the price. Amazing what the £300 - £400 bracket can get you these days. I would never go back to rim brakes after using hydraulics. They really have been maintenance free in over 1500 miles, and as I found out yesterday, excellent in the wet :)

Am I taking this hobby too seriously?

Ooooooh, Soundwave's gonna be sooooo mad  I just bought a Titan wet and dry vacuum cleaner from Screwfix the other day. Not bad for 35 quid.

Stick with the Bafang. Spare parts are plentiful. It's proven to be pretty reliable. Knowledge on maintenance is plentiful. The controller can be easily tuned or detuned, depending on user requirements. Controller is built in, plus if you get one with the uprated FET's, very reliable. Highly...

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

The trouble with the BBSxx kits, are that depending which vendor you buy from, can depend on how they are programmed. If they come with stock Bafang programming, then the throttle will act normally. If the programming has been tinkered with by the vendor, then indeed the throttle may act more...

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

Not 100% sure what you mean here, but tweaking throttle settings normally means connecting a controller to a laptop/PC via a cable and using programming software. Most throttled bikes come as standard with the ability to control the motor from very slow to top speed, depending on how far the...

Anyone building a Bafang BBSHD 1000W bike soon?

I'll be honest and please don't take this the wrong way. Judging by your other posts, you are just starting out in the world of electric bikes. If I were you Cathal, I would build a bike using whatever kit you decide on. There can be a few pitfalls, even for peeps with good DIY skills. Then...

    Bafang Gear Query

You change the rear gears, just like you do on a normal bike. If your bike has 7 rear gears, you will have 7 usable gears, 10 rear geared bike, 10 usable gears and so on. I have taken the front gear lever and cable off mine, but it is recommended to keep the front derailleur in position, to...

Am I taking this hobby too seriously?

After a particularly muddy ride today, I gave the bike a good washdown. As I didn't want to store it in the shed wet, I brought it into the kitchen, and using the wife's hairdryer, proceeded to spend 15 mins drying it off. The wife wasn't too impressed and looked at me as if I had gone mad...

    Bafang 750w Cheapest UK Price

Hee hee, that's true of most governmental sectors these days . I suppose it's a case of factoring import duties/fees into the cost, just in case

    Bafang 750w Cheapest UK Price

Add to that nasty import duties and carrier fees and it doesn't make financial sense to buy from China anymore. There used to be a time when a Chinese supplier would mark the package with a low price, to lessen import duty for the buyer. These days, customs have got wind of that little trick...

    Bafang Gear Query

Yes, the single chainring of the Bafang BBS02 replaces whatever chainrings are installed on the bike. You will not miss any of them though, due to the shear power of the BBS02 system. You can change the original Bafang chainring to a more suitable one if desired, ranging from a 52T down to a...

    Bike light brightness question?

I have two single Cree torch type lights mounted on my handlebars, both concentrating the beam into one single spot. I don't know how many lumens they produce, but let's say they are 100 lumens each. Do two lights concentrating the beam into one spot, equal one light producing the same amount...

Any news on the Bafang BBS torque sensor version?

Hee hee, easy mistake to make. I was kinda hoping that they would have incorporated torque sensing into their BBSxx's by now, but the BBS02 actually ain't too bad, so happy for now.

    Bafang 750w Cheapest UK Price

I wouldn't try and save money by buying directly from China. Long delivery times, issues with customs and potential lack of warranty could taint your e-biking experience. Try Eclipse Bikes. They might not be the cheapest, but they are based in the UK and I have bought a BBS02 kit and battery...

Got a pair of these cycling shoes, as I was getting concerned about the laces on my trainers getting caught in the drivetrain of the bike: Bought them from Sports Direct at a very reasonable price: http://www.sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-tour-100-low-mens-cycling-shoes-144093?colcode=14409341...
