Having only ridden 26 inchers, do the bigger sizes really make a discernible difference to handling and comfort etc... for the average non pro rider? If I test rode these bigger wheeled bikes, would I go " wow, that's for me, I'm never going back to 26 inches "?

I disagree. I have sleepless nights if I don't administer the correct amount of salad cream on my sarnie. Then I wake up grumpy. The wife and kids get it in the neck, as do work colleagues, friends and family. I bet I'm not the only one either. Who knows, world wars may have been caused over...

I think the word 'chain stretch' came about, because it is so easy to relate to in layman's terms. The thing is, I can't really think of any other description to use, that doesn't sound too technical o_O
