    powabyke electrical prob.

I talked to a powabyke owner who said the big solder blobs inside the controller sometimes get a dry joint with the vibration over time. You might want to have a peek. Andrew

    Electric Bikes at Tecos?

hijack this thread... 250 watts can still turn in the forks ripping the wires out. A bit of metalwork and two P clips helps kill the risk. The Pioneer forks and frame are steel with the characteristic Raleigh diamond strength. A stronger motor would require a better solution. (I must...

    Electric Bikes at Tecos?

Look at the forums on endless sphere. Plenty of izip motor and gear mods there. TNC scooters sell the motors too as far as I am aware. Enjoy the off roading Regards Andrew

    Electric Bikes at Tecos?

Good for you mate. Don`t forget you can tinker with the IZIP motor type if you are going to take it "off-road". I commute a bog standard Pioneer with a powabyke hub in a 600 wheel. All the other kit is covert in the panniers. You don`t need to spend huge sums buying these bikes. The fun with...

I saw the izip mountain style bike had a second free-wheeling sprocket on the other side of the wheel. I have been searching for these wheels but have had no luck..

    Giant Suede replacement battery

I have bought a nearly identical charger to the one that Giant supplied with the suede E. The only thing missing is the refresh button. See Ebikes.ca store and the model I have is CG363Ni-HP

Away awhile. What is the best £599 bike these days?

I notice generally the price is creeping up over the £1100 mark for a fair few. Have any budget bikes matured into the respectable bracket (bar the Giant suede;) )? What is the best you get for spending £599 these days on a congestion busting ten mile commute? Andrew

Suede has a mind of its own

Just to clarify. On the Suede, the motor controller is within the carapace below the battery. The handlebar controller is essentially on/off and eco switch control+underneath is the diagnostic button. If the cable gland/seal is poor on the handlebar unit, water can drive up the cables and up...

How many electric bikes do you see out on the roads?

Wow. All she needs is a shed at the other end with power and people could commute on rental bikes..mm not battery replacement bills.

Giant Suede Power on demand modification

Consider yourself lucky. You have a throttle and cruise control. If you are maxing out at twelve mph then you should perhaps either return it under warranty or recalibrate your speedometer. Andrew

    Measuring your hill's percentage figure

The return journey back is freewheeling almost two miles down cycle tracks. The suedeE fares well and still has enough in the battery at the end! When new it used to get me there and back too. I have to say these days the throttle is on most of the journey up to work. Andrew
