UK to Harmonise Electric Bike Law with Europe?

I never said 250w was the limit. 1000w would be more realistic and useful in my opinion. However, on the Gov.uk website, it clearly states. must have a maximum power output of 250 watts

UK to Harmonise Electric Bike Law with Europe?

Would be interesting to do a CBT on an ebike! :-) Would I then be able to ride a 125cc Motorbike on that same CBT

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

Yes, that looks ok, the serial number has been laser engraved into the plastic. Note the picture of mine.

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

Yes, there's a sticky label with a number on it near the connector, but surely the serial number should be stamped into the case, (laser printed) the label is easily removed and could easily be reprinted. But anyway, thanks for your comments.

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

But your certificate is not linked to my battery, there is no serial number on my battery to link it to your certificate. For all I know the battery could be a Chinese copy or fake. Looks like the regulations are not very well implemented.

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

How do I know that the battery is certified, there are no marks on the case to say that it is, I have no certificate? To quote your earlier post. "The regulations around battery movement are pretty tight these days and you need to have the right certificate and the right box to transport them...

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

Just out of interest Mr Woosh, how do I know that the battery that came with my ebike from you is UN38.3 certified? The battery is an HL 36v 15ah. attached to a RioFB.

    Smaller, subtle 48v battery options?

To quote you Mr. Woosh. "These rules do not only concern transport of batteries for instance from manufacturer to dealer, but all transport except transport for private purposes. There are an awful lot of lead-acid batteries on the road in all manner of vehicles which are possibly a bigger...

    Woosh Rio 17AH Battery ???

Now that makes more sense Mr Woosh. I don't want 4" tyres, in fact, I don't really want 3" tyres that's why I've spent weeks looking for a narrower tyre. (if you remember). So now we've established that I can get a new controller, LCD, charger and battery for my Rio FB, one question remains...

    Woosh Rio 17AH Battery ???

The above doesn't make sense at all, I have the bike, complete with all ancillaries. The motor a G06 will stand the extra voltage and you say by just getting a controller lcd and battery might not make economic sense and then you say I may get a better bike by buying a fat bike and converting...

    Woosh Rio 17AH Battery ???

Thanks, but what I'm asking would an upgrade kit consisting of a controller, LCD and battery be available? Assuming other parts, brakes and thumb throttle are compatible. And will the conversion still be ok with the 36volt battery?

    Woosh Rio 17AH Battery ???

Would controller and LCD be available separately and after conversion would the system still work ok using the 36volt battery.

    Woosh Rio 17AH Battery ???

So, a few months on, did the power upgrade go ahead? Are there any upgrades for the RIO FB which apparently has the G06 motor, I am led to believe that this motor is a 750-watt motor, so in theory should only need controller, LCD and battery to upgrade, is this true?

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

I know it's going back a year but this is a picture that shows the problem with first gear. I have now managed to centre the cluster and hasn't been a problem since. I also find top gear is not really high enough for top speed cruising, so a bigger chainring might help with that if I can find...

How to hide/camouflage the 750w on the motor?

My Woosh bike doesn't have the wattage engraved on the Bafang motor only the voltage 36V. Just a sticky label on the frame which can easily be removed.

    Battery lock

I have a Woosh Rio FB and have no problems with the 17ah battery lock. The only thing I've experienced is that the battery has to be firmly pushed into the holder as the lock won't be effective.

    Which bike to to 25-30mph?

Just wondering how you could be identified by a speed camera.

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

As you know my best chainline was on 8 and it had no chance on 1. And we ended up packing the freewheel out by 6mm which although not perfect hasn't been any trouble since.

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

My first trip on my Rio FB was a 17mile round trip, it did it with ease and I hadn't ridden a bicycle since 1969 when I left School. You will enjoy! The only problem I had when I got the bike was when in first gear the chain would come off the front sprocket. I trust Woosh will have fixed yours...
