    long steel seat post

Does anyone know where I can source to have a 450mm 28.6mm steel seat post? Baz??? For the front of an Ecosmo tandem; the standard one isn't long enough for me (even though I'm only 31" inside leg) I've got an aluminium one but I'm not sure I trust it, especially with the stoker's handlebar...

    Greenedgebike LCD display user manual

There are almost certainly different displays on different Greenedgebike models. I suggest you post a photo of the display. Also see if you can find a model number on the display.

    display

Thanks, I'd tried a couple of AI searches that didn't find those. Pretty much confirms what I'd guess, probably pretty basic but adequate (like the bike itself). If looks fairly generic, so (as saneagle often comments) upgradable for around £100 if necessary,

    display

Can anyone identify this ebike display? It is on a few year old Ecosmo tandem we are considering buying. Looks pretty basic, but lower top tube than our current (also basic) Viking.

    Hydraulic brake 3 pin sensors

I've had them for a few years and they work fine. Called hydraulic brake sensors; I've actually got them on integrated gear/break shifters but the fitting would be the same. I've used electric sticky tape for the magnet and double sided sticky tape for the sensor so I could easily adjust them...

    Axel issue

It could be the wheel out of true, and hitting the brake pads once every revolution. I wouldn't expect a clink from that; but could maybe be called that. Very easy to check. Spin the wheel and see if it has a wobble from side to side. If it does, it needs truing, or has a broken spoke. A bit...

    Ebike stand

I've always preferred the stand near the back ever since I got one; much more stable especially if the bike has heavily filled back panniers. Plus not interfering with the pedals as you say. I'd never realized about making it easy to lift the back wheel as well, though. Thanks for the tip...

    Bosch battery recell

The 400WH and 500WH are interchangable, as long as they are from the same generation and the same format (rack, downtube) I got the 500WH Merlin (rack) to replace the aging 400WH for our 2016 approx Motus and it worked with no problems.

    Bosch battery recell

If you get a battery recelled you are paying UK rates for a one-off job, and parts (cells) bought in relatively small quantities. If you buy a new battery you are paying Chinese rates for mass production with all the appropriate tools for that battery; and huge orders for the cells.

    Bosch battery recell

Merlin is a good place to look for a replacement. https://www.merlincycles.com/search?w=bosch%20battery Cheap (relatively), and for me at least fast and efficient. Recelling is a bit complicated as the BMS has to be kept alive during the process, which is why not many people offer it...

    Motor cutting out, thoughts?

The terminology is confusing. Many people (including me when I first started looking at ebikes) quite reasonably thing the display is the controller, as it's what you use to control the electrics. However, it's not. What is called the controller does the work of feeding battery electricity...

    More Seizures

It seems very odd if they rely on the LED display for speed. Quite apart from the overrun issue, it is likely at best not to be very accurate. At worse, many dongles apparently cause it to display the wrong speed (out by a factor of 2?), or people will have applied other hack for it to show the...

    Freego Eagle gear ratio

I idly looked to see what the bike was like, and found the following curious statement Climbing ability:- Yes up to 15 mph but to be used on flat terrain only! At https://www.meritltd.co.uk/buy-FreeGo-Eagle-id422, but presumably part of the standard notes?

Help please? Power comes in pulses

I didn't mention this before because there seemed to be people on the case who know much more the I do; but are you sure the sensor didn't originally have 12 magnets and some have gone awol. The red led would flash away, just not to the right pattern. I doubt anyone could tell the difference by...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

The Orange she got has Bosch crank drive. I think it was around 25kg with battery and all fittings. Anyway, not suggesting it for OP. p.s. I did try to suggest the Santana3 to the friend, I forget why she decided against it; probably that she really wanted hub gears (Danish and brought up that...
