    What cable required

If you do try to pull a new cable through, then something like this might help: https://www.screwfix.com/p/ideal-yellow-77-wire-cable-pulling-lubricant-950ml/44462

    low sun

I use a a helmet with a decent sized visor augmented by some duct tape stuck to the peak of it to extend the amount of coverage. Duct tape is firm enough to stay in place and easy enough to flick up out of the way when not required. It looks a bit daft, but I'd rather look a bit silly but...

    spokes

This may provide some help in how to measure spokes: https://www.customcutspokes.co.uk/how-to-measure-spokes/?doing_wp_cron=1641407008.1966910362243652343750 Spokes are normally cut to the nearest 1mm in length and the gauge is measured in fractions of a mm. A vernier caliper or micrometer is...

Yose 350 rear hub kit - transplanted onto Scott !

As above - I've used Ryde Sputnik rims at three different times and they were all different ERD's varying from 603 up to 606. The Sputnik rims are fairly cheap (but very strong) but you do need to check the ERD carefully before you order any spokes. Sapim strong seem to work well with hub motors.

Recommend me a new 700C rear wheel ( or rebuild 26" hub?)

Just for reference, I've had good results (accurate to 0.5mm) with the spoke length calculator on the 'Grin' website: https://ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html?hub=cust_d156_s38_o-3_n36_l165_h3_p27.2&pair=false&rim=cust_dia622_e605_lo1_ro1_w31&lelb=out&relb=out If your spokes are bottoming out...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

Much as I would liked to have filed a claim against the dog owner, I was more concerned with just getting home / to hospital at the time. Chemo is a permanent thing for me unfortunately - well at least until I snuff it :)

    Punctures

Completely agree with the above. The original rim on my Woosh hub motor wheel was a very loose fit - even with a Marathon Plus tyre. Mounting to that rim requires a great deal of care to ensure that the tyre bead fully engages with the rim. Conversely, I use Ryde Sputnik rims on other bikes...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

Just a normal 'well behaved' dog who 'hasn't done anything like that before'. It should have been on a lead, but a lot of dog owners feel it is their right to let the dog run free. There are good and bad dog owners just as there are good and bad cyclists. On shared cycle paths, I always make a...

    Punctures

As above - what sjpt said. I find the grip from Marathon Plus perfectly acceptable, but I don't push my luck on wet roads. They are hopeless off-road - fine on railway paths and so on but they have no grip at all in muddy conditions. With the correct technique: they are not too bad to fit...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

You have certainly sustained some battle damage. The length of time the healing process takes can be a bit frustrating, but things will slowly get better. It took me over a year to get back on the bike after I was knocked off by a dog, but I got there eventually.

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

The financial damage is probably easier to cope with as opposed to the discomfort which you have to contend with yourself. Given the weather at this time of year, your period off the bike may not be quite so hard to bear. For me, any sign of frost / ice and I give the bike a miss. I've come...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

I have something similar for my 48 volt batteries. I use either 5 x 12 volt 20 watt bulbs in a little wooden holder, or a 'normal' type 48 volt 100 watt incandescent bulb. I can also be in the situation where the batteries may not get used for a while due to inclement weather, so I like to...

New here. Suggestions for ebike for off road trails re disabled female

'Ghost pedalling' gives you the ability to simply turn the pedals without putting in any effort - but only if you choose to do so. On most e-bikes there are often 5 different power levels, with each power level providing assistance up to a given cut-off point. For example, on my rear hub motor...

New here. Suggestions for ebike for off road trails re disabled female

It's probably worth looking at the 'Which e-bike should I buy?' section of the forum as you'll gather a lot of information from there. Are you considering adding a kit to convert your existing bike or buying a new e-bike? There are three types of e-bike: front hub motor, rear hub motor and...

    Punctures

Yep, still carry all the puncture repair essentials. I had a rear wheel puncture this year as a result of a faulty inner tube (Schwalbe). A tiny hole appeared in the rubber right next to the valve stem - not an easy place to patch. I always carry a spare tube anyway, so fitted that and...

    Punctures

Another fan of the Marathon Plus here. You have to balance the extra weight and 'dead' feeling of the Marathon Plus against their unrivalled puncture resistance. For me, the lack of punctures more than compensates for any disadvantages. I've never punctured a Marathon Plus over 1,000's of...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

I had the good luck(?) to be knocked off my bike in the middle of town very near to a bicycle shop. A passer-by helped me get to my feet and I walked the bike round to the bike shop with her assistance with the intention of leaving it with them for safe keeping. I knew I would hurt a lot once...

Fitting larger chainrings to a TSDZ2

You don't mention how many speeds / sprockets you have on your cassette - how steep are hills you intend to climb and how fast do you intend to ride on the flat? My understanding of the TZDZ2 motor is that anything above 42 teeth on the chainring is not recommended and will potentially result...

Orbit Tandem & Woosh DWG22c 48v rear hub kit

What Woosh said above. I have square taper BB's so used an 'ordinary' magnet disk. If space is tight, you don't need the plastic backing plate. As Woosh said, just use double sided tape / blu-tac or anything really to hold the magnet disk in place until you have the positioning correct and...
