80% charge after short time with Lipos?

Would this be the charger I need? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/48V-1-8A-2-5A-3-5A-Scooter-Lithium-Battery-Charger-Lifepo4-Li-ion-10ah-16ah-20ah-/321369097175?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Battery_Chargers&hash=item4ad31743d7

80% charge after short time with Lipos?

I can get twenty miles out of it. I just like to be sure. I don't pedal much, I can't.

80% charge after short time with Lipos?

It's only if I go out on , say a 10 mile trip to visit someone, then I have to charge at theirs to ensure I can get back. So are all Lithium chargers the same? If I get one with the same spec but 3A, will that work, and be safe?

80% charge after short time with Lipos?

Thanks for that I have a feeling it may be more efficient than it says. it has taken about 7 hours to get from run down to full. Is it possible to get a more efficient charger? Something puzzling me in the above calculation is the 80% doesn't seem to be any faster rate of charge?

80% charge after short time with Lipos?

ok , I am very electronics illiterate so I will type up what's on the charger. 50/68hz 130w DC output +54.6v ...then there's a line with - - - below it followed by 1.8A. The battery is 48V 14aH

80% charge after short time with Lipos?

Hi all. I know that most Lithium batterys charge up to 80% fairly quickly. Is that the same with Lipos? What sort of time span would it generally take to get to 80%?. It would be really useful to know this. If I go somewhere and plug in for a few hours it would be very useful to know the battery...

Does an E-Bike make things too easy?

For me with limited mobility, it is one of the few sources of exercise. The electric bike and Hydrotherapy keep my muscle tone. I have to find hills to make the assisted pedalling worthwhile though.

    Cycle Paths

I think if a cyclist uses a shared pavement, they should be prepared to travel at walking pace now and then. It is after all a pavement. I have had many occasions where I didn't want to startle a pedestrian so I just hang back. Strangely, headphones or not they eventually sense you are there...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

I didn't 'conveniently' leave out the weight I just copied the first set of details. My point was not that this bike is within UK spec but that it was the first I saw and was completely different spec to the what you seemed to be claiming all these bikes have, thus it is reasonable to conclude...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

First one I looked at completley different spec: Wattage: 251 - 350w Voltage: 48V Power Supply: Storage Battery Wheel Size: 18" Motor: Brushless Certification: EEC Frame Material: Steel Foldable: No Max Speed: 30-50km/h Range per Power: 31 - 60 km Place of Origin: Zhejiang, China (Mainland)...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

In that case once again, the Law is an Ass. I can ride a class 3 mobility Scooter, which is far heavier far more unwieldy, on road and pavement . On the road I can go only 8mph which quite frankly is Dangerous. Try getting across a busy junction at that for max speed along with the pathetic...

Hmmm seems like your thread was a set up from start to finish. Why did you ask the question if you knew the answer?

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

Mine definitely is restricted to 15mph unless I choose to disconnect some internal wiring and friends have compared it's weight to a 'lightweight' mobility scooter I have which is 26kg and that suggests it's in the ballpark of 39kg. So not all of these bikes are created equal.

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

Seems to me mine is within the guidlines, there is nothing stated anywhere about how it looks and the wattage issue is unclear any way as far as I understand it i.e. all motors have variable wattage. The Police have had a good look at mine and the plate with specifications. It is a hollow metal...

    E-mopeds,e-scooters,legality?

I have one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261526456119 . I have been stopped by the Police, because they believed I was going down a Bus lane when it wasn't allowed ( In fact it was ). They seemed unsurprised by the bike. It has been great for me, as I have limited mobility and this is my...

Do You Wear Full Face Helmet?

I use my hearing a lot on country roads and junctions to check if a car is approaching. I imagine I would lose that with a full face helmet but I have just bought a DOT (US verified) half MB helmet. They are much more substantial than a bicycle helmet so would be more appropriate for the speed...

Is it road-legal to restrict a 500W motor?

No I'm talking about any insurance companies you insure the bike with. We all know how much work they put into finding ways out of paying up and all these grey areas will be grist to the mill for them.

Is it road-legal to restrict a 500W motor?

Something that occurs to me, is where does this all stand with insurance. It seems they have a Carte Blanche on get outs should any pay outs be required.

    E-Mopeds, harshly judged

Thanks, with all those temptations , looks like losing calories might be out of the question :) I actually live on Turner Rd , so I've been doing that one every evening. Avoided the A&E so far..
