Light Assist 16/20" Keyde and Tongxin kits

Finally a brand new Tongxin 36v, 260RPM, narrow 80mm, 36H sensorless motor (3 wire). Just tested to make sure it works. Either £135 including P&P or I can build into a brand new 36H Brompton 16" or 20" rim and provide with new controller and parts to make up into a kit for £225 including P&P.

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

You wont regret it they are much better made than the Wuxing levers and have a sharper operation and are more rigid than the previous Brompton units which I also found also rattled when you were riding. Maybe a little more expensive than similar generic levers but not a lot, have a nice...

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

b***** I just put it back in lol It was longer than I thought it would be about 10mm ? I am sure you could extend or file/shorten the little plastic button bit down as required. Jerry

Wanted front hub motor 20" wheel

Alternatively you could go for something like this, though at 230RPM I think that would be a little slow in a 20" wheel. Electric bike kit for 20" folding bikes 36v 250w without battery 80mm narrow hub | eBay Jerry

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

I will check it in a bit. Took the grub screw out. It's M5 :p PS This may work "normally closed" and thus open when the brake lever is not being pulled and pushing the switch, though not sure about thread size...

Wanted front hub motor 20" wheel

If you want less than 100mm locknut measurement then I guess you are looking at Tongxin motors or maybe the Cute 85. What bike is it for ? I have a few Tongxins (260RPM) nearly new and a brand new one. Did you want a controller, ebrake and thumb throttle as well ? I could also build it into a...

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

Interesting that might work, though as Dave said would need to be push to break. It should be easy to drill the hole out a little if need be. Jerry

Do You Wear Full Face Helmet?

About three months ago after commuting to work daily for over three years I had my first serious spill. A pedestrian was running (obviously late for something) in front of me. He jumped into the cycle lane where he continued to run for a few hundred yards. I decided to give him a wide birth and...

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

I will try though its hard now it is fitted. I did take one of the switches out of the stock cutout brakes and offer it up to the new lever to see if it would fit. There is no way it would fit like it did on the original Brompton brake levers. Jerry

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

You would need to cut the wire/outer and insert the unit into it. There is not enough room to put it in where the cable goes into the bottom of the caliper brake. Jerry

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

I did look but there does not look like there is sufficient room inside the brake housing. Jerry

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

Because it has worked so well I have also fitted one to my Dahon Uno/Duo conversion. Here it is shown fitted in the more traditional place at the end of the brake cable before it enters the brake assembly. I still need to do a write up on this conversion. As you can see I have modified the...

Hidden Wire Brake Cutouts - Brompton

Next to install the little hwbc unit. This seemed the best position to me. You need to trim back/shorten the brake cable outer the same length as the hwbc unit about 2 inches or so. Its obvious which way round the unit goes when you fit it. Another close up shot There is a little red led...
