Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Yes, it should use the correct wording, maximum continuous rated power. But that careless drafting would make no difference to a claim when the supplied motor or bike was marked 250 watts and no larger number was mentioned as part of the sale. I don't see anything underhand, they were simply...

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

No. Only the conditions you saw before the point of insurance purchase applied. That;s why you waere able to opt out of the insurance, the later change was unenforeceable. .

Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Theft insurance isn't something I have any expertise in, but in principle an insurer can set any conditions perfectly legally, provided they are not concealed and can be easily accessed before buying the insurance. In this instance, clearly the insured was able to not only access the conditions...

The Anything Thread that is Never off subject.

Yes, there's a few of us in this forum who've use the property way, the two of us and Tillson for starters. But as you say, what alternative is there since no pension fund can be trusted. I still remember my ex employees losing half their pensions when Equitable Life failed through...

I was being sarcastic of course. Believe me it's no better in London, which is actually worse than most other parts of England. Here far too often NHS stands for No Health Service and I've certainly never been clapping it. .

Rishi successful. Rishi Sunak promised he would get the NHS waiting list down, and he's done just that. Down from 7.6 million to 1, just in time for King Charles' treatment. .

Gardener choosing a bike for pulling a trailer around a city

Some further information on how much I modifed my folder to suitability: The original handlebars are too narrow, too high for my height, too close to the saddle and with no adjustments. The steering lacks self centering due to lack of caster angle, so this is made worse by the narrow high...

Stable steering. Steering is much more twitchy with smaller wheels and folders often have narrower handlebars making that characteristic much worse. Sticking one's right arm out to hand signal a right turn can take courage at times. Geometry. The traditional diamond frame bike shape and...

Gardener choosing a bike for pulling a trailer around a city

As you saw from my post above, I use both, including for towing. But the riding qualities of a full size bike are always much better. However one might not be as practical to carrying through people's homes that you mentioned, if the bike also needs to be carried through. .

Gardener choosing a bike for pulling a trailer around a city

Yes this can make perfect sense. I used a 20" wheel folder for many years with a very large trailer. And I'm also in London: Information link Choose carefully though, some folders are rather weak in their frames and hinges and some with rather weak motor systems, so ask in this forum for...

Very securely. In a block of 50 garages, mine is the only one that has never been broken into through 56 years. I don't use proprietary security for home or garage, only my own unique systems which tend to baffle the crooks. Nissan's prismatic c ells are excellent but need the right charging...

"It’s safest to buy a complete e-cycle, with battery pack and charger included, from a reputable retailer"

They won't shut it down, anything that gets people out of cars and onto two wheels is sacrosanct. What could happen if fires get too bad and/or too frequent is enforcement of what should be happening anyway. Any kit bike completed having to be taken to one of the approved testing stations to...

Help! Used E-Bike pricing and selling suggestions

It looked like a fair price so you thought it was, but in fact it wasn't. Because you chose to buy new you had to pay the VAT. That meant you paid £3750 for the bike and gave £750 to the chancellor of the exchequer in government tax that neither the dealer nor Haibike ever saw. But there's no...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

But the real villains are not the supermarkets, the villains are the public who expect to pay too little for their food. Decades ago Tesco began the process of destroying the British dairy industry by importing tanker loads of cheap milk from Europe and with lots of publicity making it a loss...
