It's 12kw and lasts an hour on a 1.5kwh battery. That's great engineering that is.

    GMB LaVenir / Merida 500

If it was two lead acid they would be 13.8v full charge each so about 27.6 volt expected. If your battery is only 26 volts it's a bit low. what is the current rating of both battery and bike, If it's too low voltage sag would stop the function straight away. Have you any details?

    Hi From The Midlands

I wouldn't bother with that kit. You have front disk brakes. DD motors struggle with torque(grunt). If it has any it's not good with front forks unless they are steel. The speed will make you stand out and risk your driving licence. If it is 1kw it would flatten even a 17ah battery in half an...

The Best Mobile Telephone Ever Made for only £9.10

I most strongly disagree. Cutting edge in cycling is recumbents. Comfortable and energy efficient. That's the cutting edge. Electric motors are so old from around 1920's I think. Humbug mutter mutter.

    Cycling without power

no power in first gear it should be easy to spin the pedals. It should only be hard at speed or hills. You shouldn't need to turn the motor off, leave it in Eco and the assist will fade at 15 mph so you reach a balance of a little assist to effort.

    Advice/suggestions for an appropriate bike

Trex has given you the general Chinese bike advice, most bikes have chinese parts so don't worry about that. I would only disagree about the battery, bigger is better especially if you need health assistance. My advice is to test ride as many as you can. The better handling the bike without...

    Battery Pack

He isnt going to get 5400 amps the likely is 5.4a *25c= 125+ amps more that the motor can take. Usually 20 amps is max and then the battery will be lucky to last 15 mins. And that is near 2kw. Smoking .. It could all end up smoking !

    Battery Pack

If you are struggling with these diagrams then I am worried that the balancing and care needed for Lipo batteries will also be hard for you. As the risk is burning your house down.... Please reconsider what you are doing. You need to keep the cells balanced, with a balancing charger. Monitor the...

Newbie battery mileage / usage questions

My gut feel is you can leave it in Eco. Otherwise known as twenty years younger. Next setting is twenty years old. And sport is you liar, you never beat lance;-) The assist will reduce the sting of the hills, you get to the top fresher and recover quicker. It allows me to keep up with the young...

    Which bike under £1,000?

Any bike will do your 5 mile commute. But v bakes do suffer from reduced efficiency in the wet. Long term they wear out the rims, and bikes do do big milages. Disk are much better in the wet and don't need as much maintenance. Improved feel is something for better riders than me ;-)
