    Hi Pedelecs people....

The old St. Albans to Hatfield train route was quite a nice run starting at the bottom of London Road. There was talk of linking up with Watford at some point? My 1st off road adventures were on Bernards Heath and Batchwood golf course (mid 1960's).

    eMTB buying advice

2lazy, you've got to ride both the Bosche and the Yamaha to see what you think. How someone can say the Bosche is better suited for XC is beyond me? Having ridden both, each system is incredible but the Yamaha's instant torque has the edge for me. The 2 bikes mentioned in your 1st post....sduro...

    eMTB buying advice

I contacted the 2 nearest Haibike dealers nearest to me and played them against each other which resulted in a 10%discount. It helped that I was buying 2 bikes though. I'd say a 5%discount might be achievable? Seat post dropper is very beneficial for off road use and it looks as though the...

    eMTB buying advice

Both bikes you've listed can easily 'handle the real adrenalin junky type terrain and jumps' so maybe you don't need to spend so much? I was in the same situation as you this time last year and eventually bought the sduro all mountain rc. I liked the fact that Yamaha have been in the electric...

Hopton Woods today with IR772. Some tricky, sticky conditions and it was a baptism of fire for IR772 who had not ridden on this kind of trail centre tracks before! He got quicker and more confident as the day progressed and had some great control over the rutted, wet rooted runs towards the end...

    Hi just signed up.

Same bike as mine and my wife. We've been some fantastic places on ours since we got them in May. On your next outing, do some photos and post them in the Mountain bike thread. It's agood way to catalogue you bike trip history.

    Chainsaw oil.

At my age an act carried out in the bedroom can be dangerous for my lower back!

Trek Powerfly ( only gone and ordered one )

The best we got from our Yamahas was (using the Map my Ride app) 120 miles with 30% left. The wife forgot to switch the app off when we got back to the van before our trip home!

    Chainsaw oil.

I was right. I had you down as a chainsaw juggler!

    Brake pads.

Mine last around 500 miles with all off road riding. Fronts do last longer but I change them anyway. No problem as its a 10 minute job total, to change front and rear.

    Dropper post

I've never used it but reviews seem quite good on Chainreactioncycles. Price looks good at £125.

    Dropper post advice

This looks interesting. The cable operation on my dropper post is the most irratating thing on my bike but having used it 12 times in a 2.5 mile section yesterday, I wouldn't be without it. Before owning a dropper £279 would have seemed ridiculous to me but its looking like a realistic option now.

Another mudfest today at the Black Mountain Cycle Centre! It's a different matter having slippery mud on downhill tracks. The first run we were very cautious but by the end of the day both of us were getting used to sliding the front wheel in the corners. We had the place to ourselves, so...

    Buy new Dongle or not?

I can't understand why you'd want to go 40mph on an emtb? I think the tyres couldn't cope? The fastest I've been on mine on a fireroad is 36mph and I was crapping myself. I've raced Moto X so I know the need for speed but I don't think these bikes are built for this? Now I get my kicks from...

Is this you or just a dream

I've read some of the comments to go with the video and its full of the usual nonsense but the 'you've got to earn your turns' stands out. Funny thing is that whenever I've riden at mountain bike centres, I've never once looked at the riders on the uplift and thought "you cheats have got to earn...

South Shropshire, Mortimers Forest. Cold at the top of the Vinnals with the ground covered in frost. Everywhere else a mudfest! 1st pic (a screen grab) shows the wife in the mud. 2nd pic, me at the top of the Vinnals. 3rd pic..wife on one of the fireroads enjoying the sun.

Eddie, our bikes are cake'd in the stuff after todays outing. Very muddy and slippery in South Shropshire.
