    BBS01 + Boardman MHT 8.6 27.5". Spacers?

They have some cool print out templates on the bafang USA site that you can use if you already have the bike to try for size. https://bafangusadirect.com/pages/quiz

    Recommended battery storage/charging box?

have watched a few YouTube vids since posting this and seems an ammo box without the seals is a better idea. Would nice to see some sort of fire service accredited/approved products!

    Recommended battery storage/charging box?

anyone recommend a fire resistant box to keep an ebike battery in? Are there any that provide provision for charging it whilst in the box? otherwise I’m thinking of buying an army surplus ammo box, although not sure if drilling a 5mm hole to pass a charging lead into it would be a bad idea!

    Gear Sensor installation problem

You’ve not got the right cable outer caps on the entry and exit of the gear sensor either. You need one the same as you’ve got by the barrel adjuster on your derailleur both sides then it is a nice tight fit. Sort all the cable ends out and then it’s just a derailleur adjustment job. By...

do you mind me asking what range you get? Thanks

    BBSHD with em3ev battery

I was thinking of the same pack from Eclipse Bikes too. If you limit your BBSHD to 24amps it'd be ok then?

What is the bafang bbs pedal assist algorithm?

Yep I've got the cable and have set the current limit levels to 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/85/100 and the speed limit to 100 across the board. That made sense to me, but I'll try it. Happy to experiment! I did this remapping the gearbox on my car when it was new, that made me sweat when its crashed...

What is the bafang bbs pedal assist algorithm?

Hmm, I think perhaps my bench test is invalid and unrepresentative. I’ll stop messing about and get on with the install.

What is the bafang bbs pedal assist algorithm?

I’ve been bench testing my BBSHD and I’m confused by the pedal assistance. Is the crank output a fixed RPM for each pedal assist level, and pedalling is purely an on/off switch? Or does the motor turn faster depending on how fast you’re pedalling? I’d assumed the second, but it seems to be...

    How to run a BBSHD48v at 52v?

It’s looking good for 52v. The display can be configured for 52v and I tested using a bench power supply upto 58v and the motor worked fine and the dash displayed full charge. So I see no reason not to go 52v for a few extra watt hours.

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

Is it the same in all gears on your rear cassette? Are you testing it with the rear wheel off the ground? Can you spin the wheel freely (brakes aren’t binding) ? Sounds odd.

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

Can you pedal backwards freely? Have you got the right chain?

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

all of those! Loosen it all off so the motor is loose. Can you then turn the pedals freely?

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

So here you can see I can slide a piece of paper freely between the main gear casing and the frame rear chainstay. This is with the bottom bracket fully torqued up to 60nm. I have a 5mm spacer between the motor and the bottom bracket and I have filed away some of the motor casing so I can get it...

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

Been busy all day fettling my BBSHD to fit my frame! Did you try loosening the bottom bracket nut to see if that frees it up? I am an engineer by trade and have built several kit cars in the past so I’m comfortable with this stuff. Do you have anyone like that in your circle of friends who can...

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

if you can turn the pedals when not sitting on the bike (in the forward direction) but cannot when sitting on it then this would confirm the motor casing is fouling somewhere it shouldn’t be on the frame and this is warping it when your weight is on the frame. You should have a 1mm gap between...

Help! Hi i need help with my bbshd

It looks to me like your main gear casing is touching the chainstay. One of your other pictures in another thread showed you had no spacers between the bottom bracket and the motor. If it is touching the chainstay and you’ve torqued it up like this you may have bent something out of alignment...

    How to run a BBSHD48v at 52v?

I have a 48v/30a stamped BBSHD. I'd quite like to run it at 52v as the battery I've chosen comes in 48/52v variants that are exactly the same size/casing and close in price and it'll give a bit longer range. I'm intending on getting a serial cable so I can alter the power delivery/limits etc...
