Tubeless repairs miles down the trail

I run tubeless, but that is simply because of the amount of gorse and thorns in my area, and the low tyre pressures that I run. I find it interesting that many of the competitors in the Mega Avalanche, still run tubes. That really suprised me when I was told that by a friend that has done it a...

    Transporting E-bikes are a nightmare!

Not if the car has CAN bus fitted, and there isn't a pre wired socket. With some vehicles, this means having to remove the car interior and dash board, to wire the towbar electrics into the CAN bus set up. With CAN bus, the engine management is also affected, and in the case of automatic cars...

Schwalbe Super Moto X. Seemingly impossible to remove

Still not a problem. In the workshop use a speed grip, and as you run tubeless, you can just plug the hole if you get a flat when out. :) There are even mini speed grips that could be carried in a back pack, that would probably easily break a tyre bead, and as only one side ever needs to...

Schwalbe Super Moto X. Seemingly impossible to remove

I can't believe just how difficult that the YT clip made it look. In the workshop I simply use an Irwin speed-grip, both beads can be broken this way in just seconds. The second bead, if still stuck, can easily be broken by placing a piece of wood to bridge the opposing rim, protecting the rim...

    RAD/RHINO ELECTRIC BIKE

I spotted an advert for the company some time back on Facebook, and asked them to provide written evidence to back up their claim. Surprise surprise, they couldn't. I quite like the look of the Radrover Mini, (Radmini as it is called now)) but that again is a no go of a bike.

E BIKE hill climb challenge// What can a eMTB climb?

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on with the bike, and what he does with it. If you haven't watched his channel before, there is some very good content, and his teaching technique is very good.

E BIKE hill climb challenge// What can a eMTB climb?

I've been following Tom Cardy for ages now. He has one of the best YT channels going. :)

    Magicshine Eagle F3 front light

The handlebar remote position has been changed since the photo below. I have moved the controls in, and fitted two additional grip locking rings, which the remote now wraps around. By doing that, I have lost none of the handlebar grip.

    Magicshine Eagle F3 front light

Many will already know that I’m not adverse to a bit of night riding, be that using my eMTB or my analogue MTB and from looking at my stats from last year, I spent just over 200hrs riding after daylight hours. Not a bad achievement for what is just a bit of evening fun, and I would guess that...

    2018 Scott E-Genius 720

I have just come across the following photos that I had long forgotten about. Why would anyone design a bike with such a poor battery and lock location.

    Giant Full-E Plus 1 SX Pro 2018

All clean, and good to go back to Rutland Cycling. A big thanks to Rutland Cycling for allowing me to review the bike.

    Giant Full-E Plus 1 SX Pro 2018

The next off-road ride was more of an interesting one, as I wasn’t actually riding the bike. I wanted to compare how the battery consumption stacked up against the battery as fitted to the Bosch CX. Both being of similar spec, this was going to be the interesting test. The highest power setting...

    Giant Full-E Plus 1 SX Pro 2018

Ride two was far more interesting and consisted of a 19 mile ride on the South Downs. Sadly, I have no ride stats, as the ride formed part of a longer ride utilising a second bike. Thankfully, the ground was pretty much frozen solid for the most part of the ride, so riding through thick muddy...

    Giant Full-E Plus 1 SX Pro 2018

The following is a review of a Giant Full-E Plus 1 SX Pro 2018 that I had the chance to test a year ago, and whilst I did publish the review at the time, the photo hosting was sadly lost. Upon removing the bike from it’s box, I was reminded straight away of the ‘Marmite’ colour scheme that...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Brilliant, I shall have a watch of that a little later. :) Certainly different conditions from the night ride that I have just returned home from. Made slightly tricky in places because of forestry extraction. All good fun.

2017 KTM Fogo 271 Long term review

180mm is the maximum that the Boltron forks could take, simply because there is too much flex in them already. The good news is that a friend come bike shop owner has offered me a 'no brainer' deal on a set of superb MRP Ribbon coil forks. I already have a few other friends that use them, and...
