I'd probably not be so keen if like you, I had to commute every day through wet and muddy conditions. :) Annoyingly the KTM is currently out of action, as my second Reverb seat post has failed. The first was deemed as being beyond economical repair, and the second is awaiting some parts and an...

    What jacket do you use

Funny that you should say/post that. I was looking for a fancy dress costume for the Xmas jumps class. I reckon that a mankini and a red bauble, should work really well.

    What jacket do you use

I just use whatever happens to be in our local charity shops at the time. The selection is always great, and at an average of less than a fiver a time, you can't go wrong.

Certainly very different from my ride on the pedal mtb last night. I was absolutely soaked, and covered in mud. Not that I'm complaining.

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Constructing oak framed buildings for a living, I'm seeing a big increase the clients that I work for, either future proofing the garage electrics by adding provision for a charging point, or who actually own electric cars. The last client was apparently selling surplus supply back to the grid...

    Derestricted or legal

I had assumed that you had meant the Mig-RR A lovely bike spoilt by yet another mud catching battery position. Italian manufacturing and electrics have never been a good combination. .

    Short Cranks on Bosch DU

It isn't something that I have ever had any interest in. :) My knee pain is associated with muscle wastage to my legs, which then adds strain to my knees. I sadly have to really work at keeping muscle tone, but luckily it isn't something that affects me too much day in day out, as it comes...

    Short Cranks on Bosch DU

So what type of riding are you doing that requires shorter pedal cranks?

    Short Cranks on Bosch DU

I have always been sort of amused by the changing pedal crank length, just to gain a few mm. It seems a follow the herd approach. I never had pedal strikes on the KTM Lycan when I owned it, but have had plenty on other FS eMTB's that I have tried. Dropping say 15mm-20mm on crank length wouldn't...

    I love this!

I liked the bit where he lowered the roof and went "oh oh" It reminded me of the Fast Show with ' the suit you' sketches.

    Why pay for software upgrade?

Good find. :) I currently use a carabiner watch that is attached to my back pack.

First eMTB - Trek Powerfly FS or ?

Given the choice between the two, I would also go for the 8. My reasoning is that I personally prefer the semi integrated (non powertube) battery. I'm not keen on some of the cable routing and other minor design details on either bike, but again that is just personal preference. .

I haven't been into the local playground for a week or so, but found the time this afternoon to get in there again for a play. Sadly it would seem that forestry extraction has started again, but luckily it has so far only affected one of the fire roads that I tend to use. I'm being more positive...

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Back in April I was given the Kalkhoff shown below to review. It arrived to me with just 55 miles on the clock, and by 57 miles was un rideable and sounded like a bag of spanners. I choose not to write the review. A friend has the same bike, and his lasted approximately 400 miles before doing...
