    new 2017 bike pics

The Cannondale has a very stupid battery position, which is going to catch every bit of crud and crap going. The Centurion has poor suspension linkage design, that leaves two bolt heads impossible to check as part of regular maintenance. The Trek Powerfly, has cables poorly routed, and are...

That'll be the only thing on the bike that hasn't then.:D Even the rider has a screw loose!;)

It helps to prevent the locking ring from working it's way loose.

I reckon Soundwave is correct, although now that you have reverted back to the OE set up, who knows. My thoughts are or rather were, that your bike has the modified outer bearing seal fitted, where as the KTM Macina Lycan that SW has shown doesn't. This allows the kit to sit further back. You...

Double pinion kit for bosch emtb

That's going to get costly if like me, a sprocket only lasts about 500 miles and you have to use their specific sprockets. That is the second film clip in as many days showing poor workshop practice video. Putting a hammer through the spokes to use as a lever! The guy should be shot! The second...

Muc-Off Nano Tech Bike Cleaner: Anyone spot better value than this?

I found the Fenwicks product to be just the same. Truck wash aside, I haven't yet found anything to beat Muc-Off. I'm another that uses it to clean alloy car wheels. It's also good for cleaning the mower and strimmer. Applying ForkJuice after cleaning the bike, also prevents mud from sticking...

I have always just enjoyed and had a natural interest and talent in tinkering with anything mechanical. :) Which is kind of strange why I have never built my own ebike using an off the shelf kit. The only reason that I keep coming up with, is the fact that I like factory finish, and can't...

Oddly enough, if you were closer I'd actually enjoy doing it. :) on the subject of cleaning and prevention, I would suggest that as part of a regular cleaning regime, that the are to the rear of the sprocket on any Bosch motor, is cleaned properly without any form of detergent, and that after...

Sadly not as big as I was previously used to at our last house, but the long term plan is build a larger workshop space. It would be rude not, given the fact that I design and construct oak framed buildings for a living. I probably remove the motor/motors once every couple of months. It gives...

Nah not really. :) I only spotted it as I have been out playing with settings my self this week. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. :) Today's plans haven't worked out and I couldn't face sitting down to do my accounts, so decided to carry on with bike cleaning and servicing instead. Funny how...

I knew that you wouldn't disappoint in respect of not being afraid to use the bike as the manufacturer intended. :) No point owning an eMTB if you are going to use it in all weather conditions. Glad that you enjoyed the ride. :) It looks as though your next job is to set the front suspension up.

Is buying 500w ebike a good idea to commute through the city?

Which is pretty close to mine. You also need to take into account elevation gain, ground conditions and weather conditions. Two recent examples.

That was my elbow. SW, I've seen people wearing the same as that, but for my use, it makes sense to compromise and have something more trail friendly and comfortable. I always used Dainese protection when I raced motorcycles and couldn't fault the make for both comfort and fit.

To go tubeless or not to go tubeless.

I have just removed the two tyres on the Lycan after about seven months of use with Caffelatex, and I was amazed at what I saw. The liquid was as good as the day that it first went inside of the tyre, and there were several thorns also poking through to the inside of the tyre. If ever I needed...

Haibike 2016 XDURO Allmtn RC or 2016 XDURO FullSeven RC?

Gas bbq and a Haibike! What has this world come to. :D I can forgive the bike, but not the gas bbq! :(

    Cleaning and detailing

I spotted a photo on here earlier today, showing a section of a rear wheel which had supposedly been cleaned, but to my mind wasn't, so I thought that I post the following. I realise that my version of a clean bike is perhaps different to many, but I have another handy hint when it comes to...

Thanks SW, already ahead of you on that one. I needed to order up a couple sets of brake pads and another chain for the Swiss trip, so ordered up a pair of 2016 Dainese Trail Skins Knee Guard at the same time. :) I'll probably also get some elbow pads before leaving for the Swiss trip, but...

Well that is another evening of fun out of the way. :) Tonight was the monthly organised mtb ride out from my mates cycle shop, and I very nearly passed it by, as the cuts on my knee from yesterday have turned into a nasty infected mess. The joys of sharp flint cuts, and the mix of cows/sheep...
