My KTM Lycan came supplied with a set of Shimano XT combined pedals, similar to those shown below, but double sided. The best of both worlds, but as I use clipless pedals, I simply removed the flat section. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-pd-t780-xt-mtb-spd-trekking-pedals/ .

Hi Paul. No I haven't ridden one. :) I had the opportunity about a month ago, but had zero interest in the bike brand, so passed the offer by. Out again today taking part in an Evans Ride It event with a couple of other KTM riding lads. Normally I struggle to maintain momentum to ride with...

Rather than moan about it, send it to me, I really like mine. :) edit.. Having said that, I'd want to check that it is the same first, as the one fitted the --Race P wasn't as comfortable as the saddle fitted to the Macina Lycan and Race.

Do you still have a non electric bike?

Two for me. A superb and fun to ride KTM Ultra 1964. And something slightly different. A Mercier road bike.

    Yamaha 05GEN concept

Almost the Invacar of the ebike world. They need to paint it pale blue though.

How long should my ebike chain last?

For the KMC chains I do exactly this, just wait for Chain Reaction to have them on offer. The SRAM are just off the shelf in the local bike shop. Crazy money given that split links on their own aren't far off this price. I was going to bulk buy a load of them when I bought my recent spare one...

I took the Macina Lycan full suspension last year, but I'm currently undecided about which to take this year. The hardtail feels so much lighter and agile, and is superb for climbing, so I'm kind of leaning that way. But equally every climb has a similar length descent, where the full suspension...

Thanks. :) I'm back there again in six weeks, and hope to do that ride again. Frustratingly with that one, was that I rode it in the morning with no hold ups and faster, but deleted it by mistake. The road was pretty greasy when I filmed that, and I could smell burning engine oil from the...

How long should my ebike chain last?

I use pretty much every gear on both bikes fitted with11/42 rear cassette, with 15 tooth front sprocket, and like Rob don't see the need for an ebike specific chain either. With KMC and SRAM chains now only costing about £7.00 a pop, I'm not overly worried about binning them every 400 miles or...

Just a brief ride this evening to try out the Hutchinson Toro tyres, before the weekends Evans Ride It event. Even from new the tyres seemingly stuck sure footed to every wet, slippery, sketchy tree root. I've been trying to decide which tyres to run on the Swiss trip in six weeks time, and...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I heard one of the most convincing arguments for leaving the EU yesterday, given by an English football supporter that was being interviewed about the subject. The reason for leaving. "The Euros don't understand our drinking laws, I want to drink outside a pub a not be dictated to." So there...

Botch factory at Haibike? At current Fullys caused incorrect cable routing partial frame and damage

Poor cable routing on one bike and cable ties holding the suspension together on another. The correct cable routing isn't exactly nice and neat either.

I think that it came down to comparing the terms and conditions of a one man band, to that of a world wide company with infinite resources available to it. As much as I hate Martin's business strategy, comparing the two isn't exactly reasonable or fair. It's equally unfair to judge without...

To go tubeless or not to go tubeless.

I have two. A cheapo £45.00 quid one that came from Lidls many years ago. It came with a nail gun, and was used to tack work prior to me fixing it. It's ideal for mtb tyres. My second one, is a feck off great big one, that was in my machine shop when I had it. I'm actually lazy and use that...

To go tubeless or not to go tubeless.

I'm lucky in that I have a compressor, so it only takes seconds for the reassuring pop of the tyre seating. :)

To go tubeless or not to go tubeless.

I realise that you might perhaps only require one of these, but at £1.89 for ten adapters that potentially make tubeless tyre inflation quicker and easier, I was happy to pay the money and an just give the remaining adapters away to mates. Delivery also only took one week...

New Bike - Specialized Turbo Levo

Can't beat a hard tail. :) Oddly, whilst waiting to take part in the last Wiggle ride, I got to thinking that at these events, there is a broad spectrum of pedal mtb's but Specialized must rank as the most popular choice of bike. It got me thinking that with the rising popularity in e-mtb's...

Glad that you enjoyed your first ride, sadly I can't see the photo though. Many years ago I rode along a track, only to return back down it again and someone had laid a log length out across the track on a blind bend. There was nothing that I could do to avoid it, and was sent straight over...
