Here we go again...... MTB 650b XT 150mm ?

Is that the blue and lime colour? If nothing else, I'd have hopped that they had lost that colour from the 2015 line up. :D Riding an e-mtb after riding your normal mtb will definitely leave you with mixed feelings. Starting with the negative element, three things stand out. the extra 7kg of or...

What maintenance do you do on you bike?

I can kill a chain in less than 200 miles, and have had them as dry as bone after just a 20 miles ride. Brake pads I remove and clean once a week, and I very much doubt that I get more than a couple of hundred miles from a set. I guess that it's all subject to what discipline that the bike...

Here we go again...... MTB 650b XT 150mm ?

This is the direction that I'm thinking/hoping to go in. http://www.ktm-bikes.at/en/bikes/e-bike.html?action=bike_details&bike_id=299&cHash=dfd53e632f8fa869d4fa1ee693b78bc9 The front end is close to your 150ish. :) There isn't much scope to shave any more weight from it, but it is still more...

    WING SUITER MEETS HIS MAKER

That's brilliant. :D I've spent loads of time watching both base jumpers and guys in wingsuits, and the speed when they fly over you is quite phenominal. You litterlay have to see it to believe it. I'd love to have the balls to try it. :( On the movie clip front, this rates as one of the best...

    Electric Mountain Bike

Looks like you spent the ride dodging the mud up there on Saturday as well Tim. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/how-many-people-are-using-there-e-bike-off-road.15780/page-15#post-233743

Difference in manufacturer speed cutoff points

Putting my comment into context and by looking back it, I'd say that the KTM was set bang on, but to obviously achieve the cut off there would need to be a point where the power drops. If there wasn't, then the cut off would had been over the limit. The Bosch motor on the Haibike is more like...

    Electric Mountain Bike

How do these manufacturers get away with calling something with a wheel base that looks longer than the length of an oil tanker, an mtb!

    Getting a bit fitter

If I can now pedal 17 miles across the South Downs on an e-mtb with a dead battery I reckon that my fitness must have improved a hell of alot since getting back into cycling just over a year ago. Having said that, I'm also a stubborn git and don't like to fail, so one way or another I would...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Very nice Clanky, and certainly a better way to have spent the morning than mine bike cleaning. The end result is still worth the effort though.

    Liability....

Silly me. And there I was in the mistaken belief that manufacturers don't like being slated by the end user when things break. I guess that warranty claims are good for business.

    Liability....

As dongles are being openly supplied and fitted by a dealer, It would be interesting to see how both say Haibike and Bosch, or even Yamaha would answer the question of dongles and warranties if it was offered jointly up to the said companies. It appears that Bosch are clear enough in their T&C...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I made a very silly mistake today. I was booked on to an Evans Cycles ride it day, and very foolishly rode the wrong bike! I loaded both the BH and the pedal KTM into the van, and was set on using the KTM, but very regrettably changed my mind at the last moment, and rode the BH for the 29miles...

Does anyone do off road night riding?

Thanks TK. The bike is a KTM, so I've no worries there. :)

Does anyone do off road night riding?

I've caved in tonight and decided that I need to re think my evening/night riding. I went out on my recently acquired pedal only mtb, and took two falls, one of which took both myself and the bike into a hole that went up to my waist. I was riding a route that I knew fairly well, and was just...

    Just a toy.

Sorry that I can't advise on the type of bike that you require, but it's refreshing to read the words "basically it's a toy" and why not. :) That is how I started as well. Okay my first choice of bike has proved to be not much more than an expensive door stop, but it still gave me the bug to get...

My next project. Wood fired bread/pizza oven

The tel number and address on the website is only a few miles away from me. I never knew that one existed. Can I add a get out clause to the above. The 5 mile radius and delivery times are subject to the BH NEO Xtrem even making it that far. At least I won't hungry in the highly likely event...

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

That's another reason that I like hub drive so much. The freedom of choice to select different gearing is pretty much infinite. The same can't be said about about crank drive. Arguments about wheel changing* don't stack up either. I can remove and replace the rear wheel on either the BH or on...

My next project. Wood fired bread/pizza oven

I've had my backside in gear over the last week, and whilst the oven and surrounding timber work aren't finished, I do now at least have a working WFO. :) I cannibalised an old sash clamp to make the setting out gauge. Then hinged it to an old trolley wheel, so that it could rotate 360 degrees...

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

Harvey's, now you are just teasing me. :D I really must get around to doing the tour one day. Rumour has it that there is a three year waiting list! St Austell Tribute is actually my preferred choice though. :)

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

Sorry to derail the thread. Is that the hill leading up from Pycombe/Clayton up to Ditchling Beacon. If it is, it's certainly a very fast and scary hill to ride down, particularly the lower section, and it must have been quite a lengthy climb up. I'm back down that way again this coming weekend...
