    E-motion Neo Xtrem

The deed is done. :) Given that the BH won't be seeing much road use ever agin, and that most of it's work will be climbing, I've opted for the following. - Shimano Deore Chainset 2 x 10 (38/24t) + Shimano Hollowtech 2 bottom bracket - Shimano HG62 Cassette (11-36t) - Shimano Deore 2 x 10...

I don't normally like flat pack, but....

Yep, I ventured out on the bike again today, and just can't get excited by it. I completed a route that I regularly ride on the BH that has a good mix of down hill, flat, long steady climbs. a 19% one mile climb, and 14% half mile long climb. The overall distance is approx. 15-17miles. I rode...

    E-motion Neo Xtrem

Nice to hear that you can finally lay the matter to rest. :) And good luck with the new bike. :) Other than frame, battery, electrics, wheels, brake calipers, brake levers, rear brake disc, nothing else remains of my factory supplied Xtrem. It has now all gone into the bin. Over the next...

    30mph bike options?

If you are thinking about buying the used Haibike, then I'll throw another option into the equation for £300.00 less, approx 50miles less and with the 400wh battery. My Haibike. You would still need to buy a dongle for either bike. The mid drive for road use just doesn't float my boat, and...

KD, without proof, that is a very poor accusation to make.

    Very nice indeed. :)

    What's your average speed ?

Brilliant fun though. :) I'm toying with the idea of trying to borrow a mid drive bike to use in the next event, as I'm sure that I could get a Bosch mid drive motor to complete the distance without the battery dying on me, and it would be interesting to see what the time difference would be...

    What's your average speed ?

Mine varies quite significantly depending upon the type of terrain that I'm riding and the distance covered. Road average is approx. 14mph over distances of between 30 and 40 miles But I'm more interested in my off road averages. But can be around 18mph on distances of approx. 20 or less miles...

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

I decided to make the most of the sun this afternoon, and set out to ride roughly just to the foreground of the horizion from this view that we get from our house. Sadly it did quite go to plan, as my knees just became too painful after approx. 38 miles, so I cut the ride short and ended it...

    Anyone feeling flush ?

Ask these guys below for their opinion about Stealth bikes. It won't be very favourable given the unresolved hassles and problems that they had with them. So pissed off infact, that it inspired them to create this... http://voltz-bikes.com/ .

    "Cheating"

SRS, have you watched or taken part in the Brighton Big Dog MTB race? I'd never heard of it until a couple of days ago. I was searching for other events to enter, and that came up. As you have been in Brighton for that length of time, you must have had your haircut at least once in Freddies...

    My first ride :)

Fantastic first ride. :) If don't already have one, please buy a decent lock or locks for the bike. I'd hate to see your fun spoilt.

    Wiggle Rough Ride

Gringo, you have summed it up very well. If you can force yourself to wear a helmet for just those few hours, I know that you would really enjoy the event. I'd love to be able to encourage my mates to get out and join me, but they ride on the road, and reckon that MTB riding is too much like...

12ah battery over 9ah battery for the NEO

This more of an idol thought than anything else, but todays MTB event had me wondering what kind of extra range that I might have been able to expect, from using the 12ah battery, over my 9ah battery. After riding approx. the last 5 miles with the battery gauge showing zero and blinking...

    Wiggle Rough Ride

There's no throttle Ian, just pedal assist. :) I had to really ration it out to complete the ride, and for some reason my trip had chosen not to work, and the second feed station wasn't where I had expected, so any chance of gauging the distance left was ruined. I just pedalled as much as I...
