E-bike as mobility aid - advice please

I did have contact with ticks in Northumberland and the Lakes, my dog certainly did get bitten. I did also look into Lyme disease years ago, but wasn't convinced it fitted fully, I'm 13 years into illness now. I seem to remember talking to my doctor about Lyme but can't remember if I was...

Hello, Looking at getting my first e-bike.

I'm fussy too, kits are nowhere near as neat as a dedicated manufacturers bike IMO.

    Hilly commuting with an ALP

I'd be happy with the smaller light assist motor but would still want a large capacity battery without the need to resort to the range extender battery option, guess my perfect bike will come along one day.

This Scott looks like a good deal

I'm a fan of KTM's, the chain will last longer on it with it being wider, biggest issue for me would be chain adjustment, if it only has horizontal drop outs with no adjusters then it will really need a tensioner adding, however tensioners don't exist so you have to modify one for vertical drop...

    New Bosch motors

Unless it comes with a significant price difference. certainly it gives you more options, I particularly like the up to 120 rpm cadence over the ALP's 100 rpm.

    New Bosch motors

Not so, if range is more important Bosch are showing a potential range difference of 20 km between the two motors, also not everyone wants or uses that must assistance, this forum has ALP users who even ride their bikes with the motor turned off for most of the time, so they're unlikely to want...

    Bosch (cube) Issues

A very simple thing to try is fitting another display at the shop. or perhaps they already did that? a display is only about £80 off ebay if it is the display that is the issue. £70...

I had an accident on my Giant Quick-e 2019

Given the motor is a crank drive it would need a fault on the freewheel of the rear cassette to have any slowing effect on the bike.

Does it look like the one in the photo, or does it have the small 18T front chainring?

    First ebike belt not chain?

So you bought a Scott that wasn't Bosch powered. I wonder which model you bought then?

First e-bike, largely commuting but want reasonable all rounder

Lots of confusion on that bike. it has the 2019 CX motor on the photo and has a 500 wh battery https://www.focus-bikes.com/gb_en/95663-aventura-6-7
