First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

Sorry range reports then, I wasn't trying to imply your range reports were inaccurate. Again I am simply trying to make anyone reading aware that how you use your bike is at the opposite end of the scale to say how I would use it. I haven't questioned the way you use your bike in the way you...

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

Crucially you have missed off your average speed, or perhaps it was deliberate? I'm simply trying to give some context to your range claims.

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

With the caveat that you have to ride really slowly at the pace of an untrained lady on a pedal only cycle. Do it again at a more realistic e-bike like pace in full power to give the readers the worse case range. Only saying as I'd also worry about people reading your posts and thinking an ALP...

    Orbea Gain e road bike

I had a ride on a Gain yesterday, it was a nice bike and felt very similar to my racing bike, it rolled well above the 16 mph cut-out. I tried it on a couple of steep hills, I'd say the assistance was a bit less than the Tour setting(1/2 power) of my weedy (deuned for hub gears) Bosch Classic...

    Cube Acid 400 chainring upgrade

I did a time trial on my bike the other night, came last of course but I was interested to see how I'd get on on my 23kg plus hybrid with hub gears and the power off, pretty happy with 15.7 mph average on the TT to be honest. https://www.strava.com/activities/2367787337

    Cube Acid 400 chainring upgrade

Nice to see a Cube used as they were intended to be used, the only thing I'd say is you should really be listing your rides as E-Bike when you're on your e-bike ;)

    Cube Acid 400 chainring upgrade

2 teeth more isn't much, I'd run a few options through a gear calculator first, I'd have thought you need at least 45 teeth. There are plenty of options for 104 mm BCD chainrings, here is just one example, good choice of sizes too in 3/32" width. Gebhardt Singlespeed MTB or Road 3/32" 104mm BCD...

    Bosch battery recell price

I was just thinking I need to think about refreshing my 6 year old batteries, I flattened my 400wh battery in under 12 miles the other day.

Bosch CX - is it possible to reduce pedeling resistance with aftermarket mods

I'm sure they could get as much from the active line style if they wanted to.

Bigger front ring - Bosch Active Cruise 2014

Ah yes you will indeed be spinning the cranks slower with the higher gearing, I've run some really tall gearing on my Bosch Classic at times and I've had to tackle some really steep climbs (circa 30% at times) with a low cadence, not once in 11,000 miles have I ever had any overheating issues...

Bigger front ring - Bosch Active Cruise 2014

Don't worry about your climbing speed being too high because it won't make you climb any faster. The 20T front will give you in effect a 50T front chainring, so think about any really steep hills you need to tackle on your lowest gear of 50x34 which even with the motor might be a tad high for...

Bigger front ring - Bosch Active Cruise 2014

Sorry to say you've completely missed the point of xena's post. The issue is the 37.5 x 11 gearing which is too low.

Even if you do have steep hills the active line motor is more than enough anyway.

Ever so slightly less enjoyable. No, because it is more powerful it will be easier to pedal, put another way you will go faster for the same input

Need help choosing between these bikes

As above when you are pedaling above 15.5 mph when the motor is no longer assisting you the extra gearing inside the CX motor creates a bit more drag than the cogs inside the active line. Even though the motor is now not powering, you still have to turn those cogs and the motor because they...
