    What's the best car battery?

I need a new battery for my car, are there any that last as long as OE batteries, I've had two vehicles where the original battery has lasted 11 years, but I've never had a replacement last more than about 5 years. Bosch, Varta, Exide, I presume they're all about the same?

    Measuring Bosch battery voltage

I can read the voltage of my car battery on my multimeter no trouble. When I try to read the voltage on the Bosch battery I can't get a reading with any of the outer 4 terminals. The battery has 5 terminals, only the centre one is in use when on the charger. Do I need to be connecting the two...

    Will these roundabouts catch on?

Not sure I'd have faith in pulling out in front of the traffic at the new junction points, looks like it'll make accidents even more likely, including cars running into ones giving way to cyclists. It would need a serious step change in driver attitude toward cyclists.

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

That's quite good, I think that last ride was about 900 metres of climbing, I'll have to see if the calculator works in miles and feet. My input varies greatly, one day it can be very high, the next it can be as low as 20%, I'm beginning to realise it makes a big difference, but I'd never go...

That's something I'm seriously considering, I've not looked into it yet, do you have any pointers to suitable batteries and a source for a suitable plug, not sure what the 4-pins are, 2 positive, and 2 negative?

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

I had a short ride to a friends house today, I'd have taken the car before, so I'm pleased to say that it also works well as a mobility aid when my energy is really low, even putting about 20% effort in allows me to make good progress on the bike, and it goes a lot faster than a mobility scooter...

Hmm wouldn't it make a nice discreet e-bike. That might might just annoy the lycra's (not sure I like that term) even more up the local hills. A bit of shopping would complete the picture. This ones a bit too far away for me...

I'd be happy to ride a shopper these days, just the job for popping down to Morrisons for the shopping, does that make me odd? Bob there are some canal barge dwellers that still ride them. So if you're wanting more happy childhood memories pop down to the canal this lunchtime :p

I was always a hub gear fan, I had to wait a long time before I could return back to hub gears. I think you must be quite a bit older than me?

    Destricted Kalkhoff Sahel i360?

Sounds good to me. Shared cycle paths need sensible consideration to speed. When I was fit I could quite happily ride down the Tissington trail at 20 to 25 mph on the empty sections, I wouldn't dream of going that fast with other users on the trail.

Most kids bikes still weigh a ton, but not many kids ride bikes these days, or if they do they don't go far. I'm sure my Chopper did me good, apart from the time my front wheel got stuck in a curved drain grid and I head-butted a brick wall..
