    Agattu Offer Extended

Many thanks for the explanation Flecc. The SRAM Dualdrive is actually fitted on some sportier versions of the Flyer, with very good results as far as I know. I cannot wait to see your review.

    Agattu Offer Extended

I've seen on A to B that the replacement battery is quoted 305 £. If confirmed it is a very good price for a Panasonic Li-Mg 10Ah. I guess that two of them would be enough for almost every tour.

    Agattu Offer Extended

Have an academic question about the tuning of the crank motors by replacing the rear hub sprocket. Would it be possible/sensible to use two sprockets like the Brompton six speed version (3 speed hub + 2 sprockets – in this case maybe even without the need of having the derailleur, since it would...

    My New Nano Brompton

Very interesting report Francis, much appreciated. :) Please let us know your forthcoming findings about lighter batteries.

You are the only one who doesn't need it! :D

    Agattu Offer Extended

Does anybody have an online subscription to A to B? I wonder why the new issue isn't online yet.

    Agattu Offer Extended

Funny thing. I don't manage to get this info from the Italian supplier either. Didn't the Germans fix the price yet?

    Agattu Offer Extended

I’d be curious to know how much does it cost the replacement battery for the Kalkhoff. The Swiss Flyer uses the same very good Panasonic one and it is (was?) outrageously expensive. My feeling is that Kalkhoff should sell it at a cheaper price. Does anybody know it?

    Agutta 1st Impressions

Many thanks for the report Aldby! What do you think in comparison to the Lafree: better or...

    My Agutta Has Landed

I think we should blame the Germans for this. The 20.8Kg figure was stated by the Italian supplier as well.

    My Agutta Has Landed

I didn't realize that the stated 20.8 kg was without battery... Anyway, I see on this pdf that the not electric Agattu 24s weights 17.8 kg. I don't know if it can be useful to understand the weight of the pedelec model with the Nexus 7.

    My Agutta Has Landed

But your opinion would be of the highest interest for all of us, Flecc! -- Regarding the weight. My Twist, which is the Comfort version with suspendend forks, seatpost and hub dinamo, weights at least 23 kg... In normal use I carry with me a big U-lock, the fittings for the Bobike child...

Are there any 'non-shopping' styled bikes...?

Vita Electric in London said someone. Flyers are very expensive but they are now reducing the price: check also with a German or a French supplier.

    Raleigh Deutschland uber Agutta

Actually there are at least three different brands (all of them should be part of the Derby Cycles Group) selling the same bike in Germany at the moment: Raleigh, Kalkhoff and Simplex. Quite confusing for German customers I suppose! But Kalkhoff appears to be the only one selling the bike...

    Kalkhoff Agutta Feedback?

I bet you are not the only one hanging on Flecc's every word now. His opinion will be the first high qualified one about this bicycle in Europe!

Are there any 'non-shopping' styled bikes...?

Here are the examples I know: Biketech Flyer: S-Serie and T-Serie HS Koga Miyata Tesla-S Heinzmann Estelle Sport Cybien Velox Matra I-Step Runner And that is something you can do with a kit: Velectris (i.e. Nine Continents) and Crystalyte Hope it helps :)

    Agattu - Going Commando!

Hi Musicbooks - I don't know the Agattu but if it so similar to the Biketech Flyer as it seems, I'd say that have no need at all of a second charger: range should be much more than 30 miles. On the Flyer, like on the old Lafree, switching the power while pedalling is very easy. The only problem...

    When in Milan...

The cross-over is true, but as Flecc says more for pleasure than for commuting or this kind of things. Milan EICMA was a “Cycle and motorcycle fair”, so there were both the worlds. Ebikes are allowed in my country only as pedelecs, so as “bicycles”. At the fair most of them were Chinese...

News: 50Cycles launch the Kalkhoff Agattu Pedelec

Yes, the new Biketech Flyer models ("Premium", from 2007) have this battery, that is reported to give >25% more than the previous 8Ah. Batteries are exactly the same. I don't know about the Panasonic unit, because, even though the Italian supplier told me that it is the same as the Biketech...

News: 50Cycles launch the Kalkhoff Agattu Pedelec

Very interested in your feedback about the Kalkhoff: as I said some time ago, they are beginning to come in Italy as well (at a higher price than yours, but with the good collateral effect of bringing down the price of its direct competitor, the Biketech Flyer) but we have no experiences till...
