Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

This is very good Alex. It would be nice to see the models of the bikes as well, as I would be interested to see if 50Cycles Beat Bike Toba, which has the Impulse 2 motor will turn out to be a lemon, like the late Kalkhoff bikes did.

NO! I will dress up as a Viking and bring a flaming torch and a boat to burn with me. That way you get your own personal Up Helly AA

I plan on boring you all to tears with my experiences. In fact I will be visiting you all in turn with my slide projector and slides that I have taken. Who's first?

Just wanted to say thanks ....

it was about two years ago that I came on this site to ask what e-bike I should buy. I have spent the last 2 years changing my mind, putting the decision off and generally faffing about. It was going to be a Kalkhoff, but by some miracle I changed my mind and have ended up buying an ARCC...

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Just read the thread from start to finish. Looks like I have had a lucky escape. I was interested in the Integrale 8, but was concerned about buying from 50 Cycles, so I contacted Kalkhoff and asked if there was anywhere other than 50 Cycles where I could buy a Kalkhoff from. Their list in...

    eBikes with Integral Battery

I think that it is more a case of let's build a big box around our battery! It certainly turns the head, although I am unsure in which direction!

    eBikes with Integral Battery

It's taking forever to get anything set up at work. Still no response from 50 Cycles. I can see that it will be another couple of years before this moves any further forward. The money is available to buy outright, but it just seems stupid when ProC2W is available. Thanks a lot for your...

    eBikes with Integral Battery

I must admit that I didn't realise that there was any interchangeability across different brands of external batteries. I probably need to get back to the mainland more often.

    Hello from Shetland

That looks reasonable. Nice frame. I like the front rack. Not sure that electric shifting is necessary as I have been managing to shift my own gears for many years now. External battery though - bleurgh!

    eBikes with Integral Battery

Hi Folks It looks as though ProC2W* might be looked upon favourably at work so buying a decent (expensive) ebike is looking more attractive. I am trying to discover all of the (road legal) ebikes with integral batteries and wheels 26"+, and have come up with the following manufacturers/models...

    Hello from Shetland

Reporting back on the progress towards e-bike ownership. The bean counter doesn't seem completely against the idea of getting a £3,000 bike through ProC2W, but wants to see more people interested otherwise it's not worth the effort for one person apparently. There would be nothing to say that...

    Hello from Shetland

It's a hell of a lot prettier than some of your bikes, and gets away from having the battery hanging behind the seat tube, therefore adding to the length of the bike. The square section battery tube is overly square (brutal) and could do with some breaking up of the lines - look at the Kalkhoff...

    Hello from Shetland

Nooooooo! It's supposed to be a long distance tourer. I was tempted to get an ARCC kit fitted to one of the Moultons, but about £1,800 seemed a bit much, although I hear that the ARCC kit is of the highest quality.
