I agree that it is up to the individual to take responsibility of their own actions, the angry karen curtain twitchers just result in members leaving and achieve nothing to promote friendly ebiking discussion. Perhaps the forum should be retitled Pedantics.
Following Borris' announcement. From Wednesday, throw the old bike back in the shed and get the car out for a long drive, (although not to Wales or Scotland).
It's a good idea but by the time any of it happens everyone will be back in their cars and carrying on as before.

New era for cycling and walking
8 miles on a small wheel commuter might take some getting used to. Depends on type of roads and traffic though.
Good on you for considering it, have a go anyway and see how you get on even if its just for the good weather days.
The problem I have is the % indicator on the Bafang stays at 100% for miles and miles yet when it eventually drops to 25 to 30% if I climb a steep hill the indicator will drop to 0% and is red. Once over the hill it goes back up again. It's not like a fuel gauge in a car.
I find it best to go...
Some kits are well known for failure if the throttle gets water inside. Once you have the controller replaced it might be best to remove the throttle completely.
Two things I have noticed during my driving trips to the shops during lockdown.
Many car drivers being a lot more aggressive/fast.
Cyclists wobblying around on old bikes that spent the last 20 years in a shed.
Not an ideal combination.
If it fits, consider upgrading to a Shimano M545 mechanical disc setup.
I did this and it is far nicer and easier to set up then the plastic rubbish originally fitted to my bike, it was CE marked which I understood to be Chinese Export.
Canal towpaths seem to be the worst for walkers with earphones and a dog off the lead. A bell or even speaking has no effect. Perhaps carrying a long stick and poking them in the back of their head might work?
