    Halfords are truly shocking!

Use an independant cycle shop everytime. They care and have knowledge.

    First Ride of an Ebike

Try a decent model, you will not be disappointed. There is a lot of cheap rubbish about, like most things in life, quality costs, buy cheap, buy twice.

    Hello

Welcome, always good to hear about conversions. What kit did you use and how do you like it.

Bottle lugs too close to seat tube for battery

I mounted my shark using a third rivnut and bolt through the lower aluminium plate as in the video and it is very secure. A couple of things to be careful of, take note of the polarity of the electrical connection, it will fit in reverse if not careful, and also discharge the capacitor. That...

The joys of throttled ebikes/scooters in Spain! Come on England get with the times!

Just thinking the same, connect 2 of them side by side, hang a walking stick on the handlebars and legally attack any high street at full speed. Well, that's what most of the old dears do around here! :D

    Off Road vs Road Tyres

I've been using Continental Double Fighter tyres for years now, low cost and easily available, smooth on tarmac yet they have the knobbly edges for then off road. https://conti-tyres.co.uk/commuting-touring/double-fighter

    Old shop bike conversion

You know the sort, really old heavy bike with a small front wheel with wicker basket and an advertising panel in the frame. I have this idea of getting one and stealthily converting it to electric. I like the thought of overtaking the lycra boys up a steep hill whilst wearing a flat cap. Has...

Why many ebikes exceed UK/EU maximum of 250W

The current UK laws on this subject really need repealing. I can understand the reasons why a one eyed granny shouldn't do 40mph on a shared path, but for an average sensible cyclist on the road common sense should prevail. Battery capacity, voltage or motor wattage shouldn't come into the...

    36v to 48v Bafang BBS01 250watt

I take it you have somewhere legal to use it? I have a 48v bbso2 750 that I use on private land, with permission, that has no access to the public and quite honestly it's overpowered. Grip and handling give up well before the power.

Petition to legalizing throttle only eBikes for the disabled

Would it not be better to use the official Government petition site? https://petition.parliament.uk/ The current legislation needs a complete sort out although it's unlikely to change anytime soon as parliament has a few other things on it's mind at the moment. Many other countries have a 750...

    Street legal

Theoretically it could involve charges of driving an unlicenced vehicle, uninsured vehicle, untaxed vehicle and put points on your driving licence. Ridden sensibly it's unlikely to attract any attention, but if involved in an accident, even if the other party is to blame, might not end well.

Wear Yellow Jacket for SAFETY......? and get assaulted or Jailed!

Wear HiViz orange if it bothers you. May get mistaken for the postman though, especially if wearing shorts in the depths of winter.
