Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

When i bought my Carrera hybrid from Halfords, they said i must have the 6 week service done to keep my warranty. I wasn't happy about it, as i didn't really want those shop monkeys touching a bike i now own and would rather do it myself. But as it was free and to keep the warranty i...

Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

Well i still get the service stamps on my car & bike, but i use independents that are far cheaper..... and i only have to pay for 1 service on the bike and 2 on the car. Using independents at not much cost is worth the piece of mind for any warranty issues. After that they are out of warranty...

Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

In the bad old days, vehicles had to have expensive main dealer servicing to keep your warranty.... at least now we have an EU directive that says we can go anywhere for servicing as long as the schedule is adhered to and genuine parts are used. Vehicle manufacturers will still likely refuse...

    How do you clean yours?

Easy with a hybrid that doesn't go mud plugging..... Bucket of water with a squirt of washing up liquid in it, using a brush, sponge and then rinse..... about 10 minutes. Jobs a good un.

Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

We all know that cars, motorcycles etc when bought new have to have service stamps to keep the warranty..... but most people would not even think about this when buying an Ebike. What Kalkhoff are doing here, by not making these conditions plain to all buyers before they buy is an utter rip off...

So now you're backtracking..... you said... and i quote... 'there is actually nowhere in uk to use a 1000w ebike anywhere...so what's point in owning one' So you're wrong, simple as.

Saying there's nowhere these bikes can be used legally is rubbish..... non registered dirt bikes, quad bikes and pit bikes are used on private land, they're certainly not legal to be used anywhere else. Some land owners have utilised some of their land for these motorcycles & quads to be used...

Go-e On Wheel anyone tried it?

Even if this system does turn out to be as problem related as before..... this thread will make a welcome change from tedious arguments about the legalities of Ebikes. And for me, immeasurably more interesting.

Go-e On Wheel anyone tried it?

This latest system from Go-e may or may not have all of the same problems as previous incarnations of this system....... but no one on here knows for a fact either way yet. Which is why i'm reserving judgment. Minds, like parachutes, work best when they're open.

Go-e On Wheel anyone tried it?

I have no experience of a 24V ebike system, having only rode 36V ones. I'm certainly hoping it would be powerful enough. I will ignore all the previous bad rep about these systems for the time being. As you say tech moves on and what was once crap could become a great system to suit those like...

    1000w ebike ???

Yeah i remember that thread and i posted on it..... cant be bothered to read all 8 pages again, but i remember a lot of posts from helmet wearers telling non helmet wearers that they should wear them. Cant remember ever seeing posts on that thread, or even this forum, from non helmet wearers...

    1000w ebike ???

I'll take my chances, just like i would with an illegal ebike if i so wished...... you getting it yet ? You forum 'ooh your not allowed to do that' type people can bang on about illegalities all you like, it wont make any difference to me, neither will to many others on here.

    1000w ebike ???

Things you'll never hear on this forum........ People with illegal ebikes telling people they shouldn't have legal ebikes and should have illegal ones instead. People who dont wear helmets, telling those that do wear helmets, they shouldn't. People who have throttles, telling those who dont have...

    1000w ebike ???

My Leatherman isn't carried as a knife, its carried as a multitool....... in fact i've hardly ever stabbed anyone with it.

The trade members do seem prolific on this forum, because it has so few actively posting non trade members. I feel that trade members are here first and foremost for their business interests, thats why they pay to be on here. They are just salesmen to me and i dont trust much of what salesmen say.

    1000w ebike ???

My Leatherman multitool has a locking blade, perfectly legal to sell them. I just cant carry it in public without a good reason. Yet i can legally carry my Victorinox Swiss Army knife, which i do constantly as its attached to my keys, but it has a blade the same size as the Leatherman and its as...

Flud has only recently joined, but obviously has an agenda about illegal ebikes and vociferously bangs on and on about it. It has all the hallmarks of a 'multi', a multi of someone currently on here, or previously was....... makes me wonder who has also had this agenda. No doubt Flud will deny...

I simply dont believe all this scaremongering that legal ebikes will get banned because of the few illegal ebikes. I also dont care much that people have s pedelecs, or illegal ebikes, call them what you will. I may well get a non legal kit for my next conversion. I also have no respect for this...
