4th London Cyclist killed in 8 days

Of course, truck mirrors now are far better than they used to be. You have your main mirror on the arm and underneath you have a separate wide angle mirror, and now most trucks have a wide angle mirror positioned above the nearside door that looks directly down. By your nearside door was the...

4th London Cyclist killed in 8 days

I've been a HGV 1 driver for most of my working life. Many cyclists will insist on riding up your nearside. They were the bane of my life when driving in towns and cities. If you were stopped at traffic lights and indicating left, you would have to stop with your wheels a few inches away from...

    Battery "fuel gauge" query

The point is they aren't fail safe because of the simple fact it was so easy to forget to turn the tap from 'res' back to 'on' when you filled up. They wouldn't dream of having a stupid system like that on a car. Another thing about them was you would run out of fuel in your main tank at the...

    Battery "fuel gauge" query

Ah yes, the nanny state....... I expect it was the nanny state that took away our kick starts and made us have that complicated button that you have to push. Nurse !.... Bring me my rose tinted specs will you.

can I use V brakes on a 350/500w FRONT HUB conversion kit ?

I've always preferred v brakes on a bicycle. I like the simplicity of them and its a lightweight braking system. I've also never felt them lacking in braking power. I specifically bought a lower spec bike last year because it had v brakes and not discs, and i'm glad I did, as it made it easier...

    Battery "fuel gauge" query

The system with a tap and reserve was far from ideal..... many people would forget to turn the tap after they filled up. So when they started to run out of fuel at a later date, they would go to turn the tap to reserve, only to find out they'd left the tap on reserve. They then had a long walk...

    Hi need your help please

If they're used to working on motorcycles, they should be easily competent enough to fit one of these kits. The only thing to pay particular attention to, is that the torque washers fit correctly in the drop outs and the outside washers fit perfectly in the fork dimples. Its imperative they fit...

    8fun kit - prices reduced

I would add that as an experiment its been a success so far and i'm really enjoying an ebike. The idea was that after a year i'd upgrade to a ready built ebike. But i'm still disillusioned with the high price of them. The only ones I like are around £2K or more..... and i'm finding it hard to...

    Hub Drive or Crank Drive?..

    8fun kit - prices reduced

If I get a year outta the battery, i'll be reasonable happy. I only bought the kit as an experiment to see how i'd like an ebike and the 8fun kit was the cheapest option. I've not fitted the pedal sensor or the brake cut outs, and just fitted the thumb throttle to keep it simple. So possible...

    BH Emotion serious problems

I've been following this thread with interest from the beginning...... and it seems to me the whole ebike industry needs a kick up its ****. Crap after sales, poor quality parts, non transferrable warranties, yet stupidly high prices on a lot of ebikes. Its no wonder that after all the years...

    Brompton Nano or Kudos Secret?

I've no idea what that ebike from Tesco is like..... but I do know Tesco's after sales are excellent, any problems or you just don't like it, you can just return for replacement or a full refund. You don't even have to pay to return, they will send a courier to collect at a time that convenient...

    8fun kit - prices reduced

It was the kit I bought a couple of months ago, I also paid this price. Must admit I've been very happy with it and no problems at all so far. This kit fitted to my Carrera hybrid goes as well as any ebikes I've tested that were well over £1,000.

    8fun kit - prices reduced

These kits have been £420.99 for many months to my knowledge and there's £15 delivery on top. Were they ever their claimed price of £699.99 ?....... Because I cant see anyone paying that.

ACF-50 or GT85, too good to be true?

ACF 50 is highly respected in the motorcycle community for stopping corrosion. Use really sparingly with a brush or a rag and a little goes a long way, which you want because its expensive. I don't use it personally, because i'm always cleaning my motorcycle and like it looking pristine all the...

how easy is it to make an E bike out of a conversion kit?

Bayrider, the 8fun kit should fit fine on your bike and they are p*** easy to fit. I just fitted this kit myself knowing nothing about ebikes and it went on my hybrid easy as. For £435 delivered you get the front hub motor fitted into a wheel, bottle battery, brake levers with cut out switches...
