    Tyres

Have a look at the Marathon Plus Tour. A semi aggressive tread that would work well on or off road IMO.

    Tyres

The schwalbe green guard are a good priced tyre for the protection they provide. The schwalbe marathon plus line is £8 to £10 pounds more per tyre but much better. Well built and rugged combined with slime should banish common puncture issues.

    Action Camera

Just spent my first day with my new TCL SVC200 (£99 from Amazon). I had a couple of low end cameras that just did not perform as well as this one. I first spotted this in a review at techmoan. Go have a look. This guy does a great job breaking down all of the cam's many features and abilities...

    thoughts on this beast?

This is an off road only bike. With the extra weight and design of frame and suspension, there are much better bikes that are street legal. They are more expensive but can be used everywhere and are better designed and kitted out for off road extremes. I'd give it a three out of ten.

    Chopper bike to carry passenger?

Excellent artice flecc. It provided a lot of info on the said subject. But as the author infers, the regulations are widely open for interpritation. If you stick to British safety standard regs you should be ok. Home workshop mods may be hard to prove as being safe or suitable for purpose.

    Chopper bike to carry passenger?

Yes of course you are correct. A tandem bike would be a great example. However we are talking about the chopper not bikes in general. I do not believe that the chopper could be legally adapted for a passenger larger than a child in an approved seat. Again the back wheel would have to be built a...

    Chopper bike to carry passenger?

I would be worried if the back wheel would take the weight of kit plus a passenger (and having a passenger on a bicycle is not permitted unless your passenger is a child under 22kgs and in an approved, properly attached seat.)

How long should my ebike chain last?

"Depends on the use-intensity and care." This says it all. I bought an inexpensive road bike in 2007 and sold it in 2013. It had at least 8,000 miles on it and had the original chain, chainset, and cassette. This included weekly time trials and races. My BH City 700 is soon to hit 3,000 miles...

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

Not doing anywhere near that kind of elevation. Have you considered a 16ah Freego. £1099 with their £100 cash back offer. It would do better than 20 miles.

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

The standard Samsung for the Neo is 9ah. It is puzzling that you only get 20 miles. I have an 8ah Panasonic in my BH City 700 and routinely get 40 to 45 miles. I weight 15 stone 10 and my daily commute is not that flat. I do tend to use much less power on my return trips home (14 mile round trip).

hello from West Lancs...This bike look good to you?

Wow! Just £800. I might even be tempted. You're right, the bits look like excellent quality. Taking the the 12ah battery, motor and the rest of the kit combined, not bad.

hello from West Lancs...This bike look good to you?

I looked at the A and B versions and the only difference I can spot is in the frame style. The rest of the spec seems the same. Anyone.....?

hello from West Lancs...This bike look good to you?

Agreed. You and I could deal with this type of situation but the average consumer? (No offense Stephen). Most are simply looking for an electric bike that works well and is dependable. When new members of my triathelon club showed up with new bikes, they sometimes had to be shown how to inflate...

hello from West Lancs...This bike look good to you?

There is nothing like going to a shop and having a try before you buy. While the spec for money looks good you never know what you are going to get until you open the box and go for a ride. Then there is what happens if there is a problem. That can be right out of the box or six months later...

    Schumacher's Helmet

www.rospa.com/roadsafety/info/cycle_helmets.pdf Perhaps they had no expertise in helmet research but perhaps they read this research paper published here in England in 2003 by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. This report was not compiled by cycling groups with various motives...

    Schumacher's Helmet

I have read many of your posts on other threads and respect your opinions, knowledge and insights. However, your postings on this thread leave me wondering why in the world you are so against mandatory helmet use. Again it is ok to be against it but you comment as if you know more than the...
