    Conversion Kits: Pros and Cons

Nice looking bike David. This is exactly the type of bike I had in mind when I made my comments earlier..it looks inconspicuous, just like a normal bike.. I think that is a big plus for many, with the technology being well integrated or blended into the bike.

Do you leave your battery on the bike when you lock it?

That's a good idea covering the bike, less chance of it attracting attention.

Do you leave your battery on the bike when you lock it?

I agree, it's crazy leaving the battery on the bike. In rural parts it might not be an issue but in towns and cities its surely a no no. It's the most expensive part of an electric bike after all. A battery on a bike is a clear invitation to any thief. They will either try and steal the whole...

Buying at a Dealer vs. Buying Online

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't buy a bike from an online dealer, providing it's a reputable business of course. There's a lot more choice online and often you can get better deals as online-based businesses are usually more competitive and don't have the overheads of conventional...

Removing old gear cable from ez shifter ?

different, but related question I've decided to remove the front gears (shimano tourney) from my bike as they were pretty useless and taking up valuable handlebar and cabling space... No problem removing the gear shift and cable, but the derailleur cage doesn't seem to come off..it looks...

    2011 Powabykes

The step-through design seems to be more appealing to those who are perhaps less confident cyclists too, particularly when it comes to road use..as you can get on and off much more quickly.

    Conversion Kits: Pros and Cons

my input I have limited experience of conversion kits, but based on my experience of installing one, here are a few pointers I would cover in a mini guide... #1 Battery Since the battery is the most expensive part of any self-build (in terms of cost and weight), don't automatically go for a...

Self-build bike nearing completion..couple of questions

Hi all, I have not been posting to the forum since before Christmas, so best wishes to everyone and hope you're all well. Some of you may remember my posts last year reviewing a Chinese Wisper clone which I subsequently returned (too heavy, under-powered and over-priced). I had planned to do...

Brompton Nano Kit - 1 year on

I've been working on a self-build folding electric bike and since my aim was for light-weight and battery portability, I opted for a 5Ahr (36v) battery, which weighs just 1.8kg. I think it makes much more sense on folders where you don't necessarily need a great range of amount of power. I...

    Italian electric bike

These bikes are Chinese exports but made for an Italian firm operating under the "Moskino" brand, they have their own website. There is also a UK distributor for the brand, also with a website. They are also exported without any brand and sold by a few vendors in the UK. I tried one of these...

Wisper 806 battery - urgent question!

Hi Rendel, I'm no expert when it comes to DIY stuff but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work but couple of things to consider..you might need a Wisper charger to charge it.. also how do you know the battery is in good condition? If it's been used it may be degraded and not perform very...

These kept my feet warm and dry

Those look just the job Old Timer for this weather! I've been wearing my pullover fleece top which keeps me really warm but haven't been as brave as you to venture out my bike yet.. it's going to warm up a bit as the week goes on so maybe get a ride later in week. At least the snow is melted...

Giant Halfway 2 suitable for conversion?

I like the Brompton concept but I hate the designs I think they look outdated. I wonder if it's possible to replace the fork on the Giant Halfway.
