    help with ebike controller tester?

It had never occured to me previously to try since it isn't a documented feature. Having just tried testing a couple of different PAS sensors using the throttle testing connection, I can confirm the tester does show a response.

Custom length 9 core motor cable

Apologies, I had misread your post. I'm not sure ordering a custom cable from somewhere would yield a different end result - they'd likely supply a cable that will be cut and soldered in some way. The problem with molded connectors is that they can only be fabricated as a single 'waterproofed'...

Custom length 9 core motor cable

If you're not able to source a custom cable, you could just buy a standard cable pair, cut to length and solder the two parts together into a single extension.

Selling conversion kit - tax question?

Not true. Ebay UK charge VAT on their fees, but this is collected directly by ebay at the time of invoice payment.

Selling conversion kit - tax question?

You don't have to worry. Non-business sellers are not liable for any tax on the value of a sale. The only VAT you will be liable for is the VAT charged by ebay on the final value fees (20% on top of ebay's selling fee).

    Replacement MOSFET advice, please?

It was a typo for sure. D8 meant 'brushed controller'.

    What Fet to replace with

You could take your chance on one of the marketplaces, but as stated previously, they are full of counterfeits.

    What Fet to replace with

Sure. Take your pick: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/mosfet-transistors/6504716/ https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Infineon-Technologies/IRFB3077PBF?qs=%2fha2pyFadujujqg2k4hCXO%2fYWTN9ykw4PgSUvac88FSdVIEYzDeXoA%3d%3d...

    What Fet to replace with

Replacing all six power FETs would give you a cooler running controller, but it should be okay to replace just the failed FET. ADDITIONAL INFO: Although not relevant for a 6-FET controller, where you have multiple FETs on a single phase leg (9, 12, 15, 18, 24 FET etc) it is safer to replace all...

    What Fet to replace with

The LMT317T is a voltage regulator that powers the controller logic and shouldn't need replacing. If your battery is less than 60V fully charged, opt for IRFB3077 FETS, since they'll generate less waste heat than IRFB4110's.

Another source of parts from China

I stumbled across them a while back, but after my initial excitement, realised that shipping charges were higher than average.

    opinions please

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on this exact same purchase, but I'm currently put off by the throttle/PAS override bug affecting BBSXX motors with more recent firmware (details below): https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=91306 Do you know if EM3EV's current stock...

    My first DIY e-bike

It's not complicated, but experience counts for a lot. If you want somebody to build and warranty something like this, add around another £1k.

It's all relative. The hotter builds over at Endless Sphere are reaching the 25-30kW mark.

    My first DIY e-bike

Firstly, don't buy a new bike as it'll be a waste of money. As soon as you start to modify it, the warranty will be worthless. You'll need a decent full suspension bike which you should look for used. Even then, you'll struggle to find one with sufficient space to mount such a large battery...

    My first DIY e-bike

Your budget is totally unrealistic. You're looking at around £3000 all in for a reliable build based on the spec you describe. The battery alone will cost you £1k. The difficulty you have is that such a spec requires a battery almost impossible to mount on a regular FS bike frame. As stated...
